Viewports provide a simple method of adding an observation window to coating systems and other applications that require an internal view of the vacuum chamber. A&N manufactures viewports for high and ultra-high vacuum applications. When selecting a viewport for a specific pressure range, both flange style and window transition material must be considered. Kovar is used as the transition material on all ultra-high vacuum (UHV) applications. (Because their windows are brazed in place, viewports using Kovar are also called fixed window viewports.) Alternatively, elastomer seals are used as the transition material in high vacuum applications. A&N weldable viewports use a replaceable, elastomer-sealed window and are therefore intended for high vacuum service. Standard window material is 7056 borosilicate glass

A&N glass-to-metal adapters facilitate the attachment of glass accessories to (metal) high vacuum systems and to attach vacuum flange mounted instruments to glass systems.

Two standard tube materials are available: 1) 7052 glass with Kovar sleeve material or 2) 7740 Pyrex with 304 (non-magnetic) stainless steel sleeve material. The Pyrex304 stainless steel sleeve combination is recommended for cryogenic applications. Whereas, the 7052Kovar sleeve combination has a lower temperature limit of -80 C (dry ice range). Two flange families are available: ISO-QF and CF. CF flange mounted tubes are suitable for ultra high (UHV) vacuum applications and are bakeable to 400 C.

The A&N electical feedthrough line is used to transfer low voltage (50 volts max.), high current electrical power into a vacuum atmosphere. Our feedthrough features one-piece construction, eliminating any possible leakage through weld joints. Our electrical feedthroughs are constructed of oxygen-free copper (OFC) and brass. Insulators are teflon for strength and durability. A high current (1000 amp), water-cooled unit is also available.

Fluid and gas feedthroughs transmit fluids, cryogenic cooling agents or gasses into high and ultra-high vacuum chambers. Fluid feedthroughs are available with multiple tube designs and multiple flange connection options (VCR , VCO, Swagelok , tube end, custom).

A&N offers CF weld flanges in two designs: fixed and rotatable. Fixed flanges are welded so that their bolt hole orientation is set. Rotatable flanges have a two piece design which facilitates bolt hole alignment during installation. In addition, bolt holes are specified as either tapped or through-hole ("clearance"). Standard CF weld flanges are manufactured from 304L stainless steel with sizes ranging from 1.33" to 16.25". A&N raw tubing has no flanges welded on either side. We offer tubing for those customers with in-house welding capabilities. Tubing is custom cut to your desired length. Standard tubing is offered in 304 Stainless Steel. Other materials are available on request.
