Heat Exchangers
AAtanks offers three heat exchanger designs: Plate and Frame, Brazed Plate and Shell and Tube. Flow rates range from 30-10, 000 gallons per minute. Heat exchangers are manufactured to efficiently transfer heat between two fluids (gas or liquid) while keeping them separate. In typical HVAC installations, steam or hot water primary loops distribute heat from a central energy source out to secondary loops. Heat exchangers transfer heat from a systems primary and secondary loops and can also serve as a separation device to reduce system costs. Applications include domestic water heating, radiant heating, district heating, pool heating, condensate cooling, air conditioning, snow melting, and more.

WP Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger:
AAtanks WP Heat Exchanger consists of an ASME certified frame and AHRI certified construction that contains a series of corrugated stainless steel plates designed to maximize turbulence and heat transfer. Gaskets are fixed between the plates to contain two separate fluids that flow alternatively to produce the highest rate of heat transfer.

WST & WWT Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger:
AAtanks WST & WWT Heat Exchangers consists of two sides for two different media. The Tube Side media flows inside the tubes and is diverted by the heat exchanger head located on the end into two or four passes or circuits. The Shell Side fluid flows on the outside of the tubes and is contained by the shell where it is diverted by baffles or tube supports that also carry the weight of the tubes. The heat exchanger can separate two systems that have very different operating pressures, operating fluids (i.e. glycols, potable water, etc.), operating temperatures and cleanliness issues. WST heat exchangers are designed to house steam in the shell. WWT heat exchangers are designed to house boiler water in the shell.

Specialty HVAC Tanks
AAtanks specialty tanks are designed to fit the needs of HVAC systems, hot water and cold water systems, boiler systems and for many more applications. Products include buffer tanks, blowdown tanks, flash tanks, glycol makeup packages, chemical pot feeder tanks, primary and secondary headers.

Buffer Tanks
AAtanks manufactures 2 types of buffer tanks: chilled water bufffer tanks (CBT) and hot water buffer tanks (HBT)

CBT Chilled Water Buffer Tanks
Chilled water Buffer Tanks (CBT) are designed for chilled water systems with insufficient water volume capacity, in relation to the chiller capacity. Relatively low water volume systems require additional "buffer" capacity for the system to eliminate problems such as excessive chiller cycling, poor temperature control, and erratic system operation. The properly sized CBT adds the necessary volume to buffer the system volume.

HBT Hot Water Buffer Tanks
AAtanks ASME Hot Water Buffer Tanks (HBT) are designed for use with todays high efficiency systems that incorporate small, modular low-mass boilers. A properly sized AAtanks Hot Water Buffer Tank adds necessary thermal mass to the system to dampen fast transitions and minimize boiler cycling that occurs during zero or low domestic load conditions.

Flash Tanks
AAtanks FTA Flash Tanks are designed to allow high-pressure condensate to flash and a reduced pressure steam. This reduced pressure steam is then used to supply heat to a "low" pressure supply main. It can also be used to reduce and cool to low-pressure steam before re-introducing it to the boiler or condensate receiver, or discharge directly from the system. The vessels are available in standard volumes from 13 to 180 gallons. Sparge and drop-leg designs are also available to meet any design condition.

Glycol Makeup Packages
Glycol makeup packages function by automatically supplying pressurized water, or waterglycol mixture to a closed-loop space heating, chilled water, snowmelt, radiant heating, or process control system. The engineered package is designed to ensure that critical minimum system pressure levels are maintained. AAtanks offers four types of glycol systems, including the Glymatic (single system package), the GMP (single system package), the GMPD (singledual system package), and the GMPT (twin pump with alternator package).

Glymatic System
AAtanks Glymatic system consists of a free-standing solutions reservoir that contains the glycolwater or water solution at atmospheric pressure. A pressurization assembly is mounted on the solutions reservoirs high density polymer cover, keeping the pressurization unit off the floor.

Primary & Secondary Headers
Primary Secondary Headers are used in heating and cooling systems that require the primary and secondary loop of their system to be interlocked. The PSA is designed to keep both connected hydraulic circuits completely independent from one another and to provide a means for system air elimination. The PSAV builds on that functionality with the inclusion of Internal coalescence coils in the tank that eliminate entrained air and separate debris associated with start-up and maintenance of the system. As a result, the PSAV replaces the need for an airdirt separator.

Separators

  • Standard Design Pressure 150 PSI (125, 200 PSI & 250 PSI models available)
  • Temperatures -20F to 250F
Separators
AAtanks offers 2 distinct groups of separators: Air Separators and Air & Dirt Separators. Air separators are used to separate entrained air in water through forced flow patterns. Air & dirt separators are designed to eliminate entrained air and separate debris associated with start-up and maintenance of any hydronic system.

Air Separators

Tangential Vortex Air Separators (ASME)
Air separators eliminate air quickly and efficiently from closed loop heating and cooling systems. Water enters and exits through unique tangential nozzle connections, which promote a low velocity swirling vortex effect in the center of the unit. Natural centrifugal forces allow the heavier air-free water to move towards the outer edges, while entrained air is captured by the stainless steel collection tube and released to the top of the separator. This air can then be redirected to the compression tank, or released out of the system through an automatic air vent.
