Accurate Threaded Products completed this precision CNC machining project for a customer in the aerospace industry. This steel retainer is designed for use in a high tolerance aircraft engine assembly. It is machined from AMS 6322 steel and measures 1.430" in diameter by 0.505" in length. The retainer was turned and milled on our precision CNC machining equipment to tolerances of ±0.001". We specialize in providing custom high precision work to customers in the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. After machining, the retainer was ground in our centerless grinder, heat treated, marked for traceability, and plated with cadmium plating per AMS 2400 specifications. The plated retainer has a minimum surface finish of 125 RMS. Dimensional and visual inspections as well as hardness testing were performed on the retainer to ensure that all customer specifications were met.

This precision machined steel stud was produced for a customer in the power generation industry. The stud is 1.01" in diameter by 4.41" long and is used in power generating turbines. By working with our customer, we were able to eliminate the thread rolling process from the original design, saving the customer significant lead time and money. The stud is machined on a Nakamura precision CNC lathe from AMS 5737 steel. After turning, the stud is deburred, milled, and cleaned via ultrasonic cleaning. The finished studs passed dimensional inspection and met 63 microfinish surface finish criteria per customer specifications.
Accurate Thread Products completed this custom CNC machining project for a customer in the aerospace industry. These counterweights are used to balance turbine assemblies in aircraft. They are machined from AMS 5732 and 5665 alloys designed to withstand the temperatures and pressures seen in jet engines. Weights are machined in various shapes and sizes for our customers, depending on the application, with dimensional tolerances of ±0.010". Shapes are machined on precision CNC vertical milling and turning centers. The weights are then reamed and deburred before being heat treated, cleaned, and etched with our dot peen engraver. Weights are checked for dimensional conformance, hardness, and material discontinuity using FPI testing methods. We produce over 20, 000 of these counterweights a year with a typical lead time of 8-10 weeks. Our services are focused on serving the needs of the aerospace, military, and commercial industries. The bushing is machined from AMS 5662 Inconel alloy to extremely tight tolerances of ±0.0005". This combination of difficult to machine material and tight tolerances exemplifies Accurate Threaded Product’s strong suits. The bushing is machined on our CNC turning and vertical milling centers, ground with a Brown & Sharpe OD grinder, heat treated, and cleaned via ultrasonic cleaning. The finished piece measures 2.2075" in diameter by 1.170" long and has a surface finish of 63 RMA. Parts are inspected for dimensional tolerance and tested for hardness before release to the customer.
At Accurate Threaded Products, we specialize in precision CNC machining services. A customer in the power generation industry contracted us to produce this alloy steel tie rod used in an industrial gas turbine engine. Due to our quality work and reliability, we are the only approved manufacturer of this part. The rod is produced by turning raw Inconel stock on a CNC lathe and then milling the piece in our vertical milling center. Threads on the ends are produced by thread rolling. The rod is finished using centerless grinding to produce a superior shape and a surface finish of 62 RMA, and then heat treated to customer specifications. The finished part measures 1.276" in diameter and 23.600" long with dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.0005". Rods undergo extensive testing including dimensional inspection, hardness, FPI, and tensile testing. Our quality management system is ISO9001:2008 and AS9100C certified, and we can meet any applicable industry standards and customer specifications.
