AGY’s specialty glass products are specifically designed to meet your most demanding performance, processing and cost requirements. AGY’s global network of people and facilities are ready to help you develop innovative solutions to your most difficult reinforcement challenges. Yarns Yarns are defined as a continuous strand of filaments coated with an engineered chemical coating or size twisted together and used in weaving, knitting, braiding, plying and many other forms of fabric. AGY produces a full spectrum of yarns designed to meet your most demanding performance, processing and cost requirements by varying any one or all of the following fundamental components of the yarn: glass chemistry coating or binder chemistry diameter and number of the individual filaments in the bundle level and direction of the twist Rovings Rovings are a continuous strand of filaments gathered without any twist forming a bundle or tow and treated with an engineered chemical coating or size. AGY produces a full spectrum of rovings designed to meet your most demanding performance, processing and cost requirements by varying any one or all of the following fundamental components of the roving: glass chemistry coating or binder chemistry diameter and number of the individual filaments in the bundle Chop Chop is a gathering of individual filaments that have been treated with an engineered coating or size and chopped to uniform length. The coating or size has been specifically engineered to allow the bundles of chopped fibers to flow while being delivered to the matrix that is to be reinforced, and then disperse within that matrix to ensure maximum reinforcement. AGY produces a full spectrum of chopped products designed to meet your most demanding performance, processing and cost requirements by varying any one or all of the following fundamental components of the chopped fibers: glass chemistry coating or binder chemistry diameter, length and number of individual filaments in the bundle
E-Glass yarn is a natural, lustrous, white, continuous filament yarn, which is evenly twisted on supply packages. The yarns are made of glass of high stability and durability and are, with the exception of sizing ingredients, inorganic, incombustable and will neither expand nor contract with moisture changes. The glass composition meets the certification for E glass as defined by ASTM’s D578-00 Standard Specification for Glass Fiber Strands. S-2 Glass® products are the ultimate in high strength glass fiber that provides the highest level of performance available in all glass fibers. Produced with a higher level of silica than standard glass fiber products, S-2 glass® fibers offer the ultimate physical properties including high tensiles and compressive strength, high temperature resistance, and improved impact resistance.
