Gaskets

Gaskets are an integral component of any device which requires the confinement of a gas or liquid. They compensate for the unconformity of mating surfaces. These surface irregularities may be minute or large depending on the purpose of the device but in all cases, the gasket is required to compensate for the difference while limiting the flow of fluid in either direction. Gaskets differ from seals in that gaskets are normally cut from sheets or rolls while seals are formed individually in their own configuration. A flat cut gasket is derived from material of specific thickness and to a configuration that is designed for a specific application

O-Rings

The O-ring is the most common type of fluid seal. An O-ring's simple design lends itself to a multitude of sealing uses, including static, reciprocal, oscillating, and dynamic applications at low speed and pressure. In elevated operating pressure environments, addition of a backup ring will greatly increase the extrusion resistance of an O-ring.

The most basic shape of an O-ring is a simple circular sealing torus, usually made from an elastomeric material. Beyond the standard O-ring, All Seals can supply more advanced sealing designs such as Quad Rings, which are specially designed for low pressure sealing. All Seals also offers O-rings in advanced materials such as Viton, Viton Extreme, and Teflon.
All Seals stocks over 200 million O-rings in 13, 000 different size and material combinations

Teflon Products - PTFE Seals

Radial shaft seals with one or more PTFE sealing lip(s) are designed to withstand aggressive environments, high temperatures, high pressures and dry running that traditional radial shaft seals made of elastomeric sealing lip materials cannot withstand. Many of the PTFE compounds are FDA approved. Main advantages of PTFE seals include:

High chemical resistance
Withstand speeds up to 30 ms (5 900 ftmin)
Wide operating temperature range, 70 to +250 C (95 to +480 F)
Withstand pressures up to 3, 5 MPa (500 psi)
Withstand dry running

Sanitary Gaskets For Pipe Couplings

Specifically for the use in pipe systems in the food, pharma and chemical process industries, we stock a range of gaskets for most types of couplings like DS, DIN11851, SMS1149, ISO2853 as well as clamp-types like ISO2852, BS48253, ISO1127, DIN32676 and others. Most of them can be supplied in NBR, EPDM, FPM, PTFE, Silicone and Kalrez, all meeting the requirements of FDA for use with foodstuff. All standard materials are furthermore tested and certified against USP Class VI.

Custom Diaphragms

Diaphragm operated devices are essentially pistons operating within a cylinder. They transfer pressure from one sealed area to another. In the case of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, the moving piston is sealed off by a sealing device such as an o'ring, cup, vee packing, or a similar device. A diaphragm merely limits the stroke and provides a frictionless seal. Diaphragms generally cost less, have more tolerance range, and do not require hardened super finishes or lubrication.

The function of a diaphragm is the most important factor in its design and manufacture. Simple diaphragms move from one position to another, such as pressure switches and solenoid valves. There are only two positions. In the case of modulating devices, such as regulators, the diaphragm must respond to small changes in differential pressure and the diaphragm must return to the same corresponding position. Here, the concern is with flexibility, uniform spring rate, and a minimum change in effective area.

Silicone Rubber Rolls

Description: Silicone rubber rolls are available for a range of applications in the industrial and residential markets. This type of Silicone rubber has excellent stretching capabilities while remaining strong enough to be elastic. Silicone rubber rolls are available in 50 to 60 durometer and can be ordered in other durometers by special request. With an average elongation of 300% and an average of 650 PSI tensile strength, Silicone rubber rolls will handle most tough medical or gasket environments and heavy alkaline and chemical resistive situations. Since silicone rubber is made of synthetic materials and is inert it makes it an excellent choice for applications where fungal growth is not permitted.

Emi Shielding

Series 100 gaskets and gasketing materials are available as an allknitted wire mesh or as a knitted wire mesh over and elastomer core. The knitted wire mesh can be fabricated with .0035 (0.089) or .0045 (.114) diameter Monel or SnCuFe (tin-plated, copper-clad steel) Wire or with .005 (.127) diameter Aluminum Wire. The all metal wire mesh is manufactured by knitting several layers of mesh and forming the mesh into the size and shape. The knitted wire mesh over elastomer core is manufactured by knitting two wire mesh covers over an elastomer core, then forming the mesh to the size and shape of the elastomer core. The elastomer cores are available in Neoprene Sponge, Silicone Sponge, or Solid Silicone Tubing.
