Compressor Pump WarrantyEach new Gardner Denver Assembled Unit has a five (5) yearwarranty on the compressor pump only, against defects inmaterials or workmanship under normal use and service, fromthe date of installation or sixty-six (66) months from the date ofshipment by Gardner Denver or a Gardner Denver distributor, whichever may occur first.The five-year extended warranty covers parts and labor and isprorated over the five years as follows:Year One 100% coverageYear Two 90% coverageYear Three 80% coverageYear Four 70% coverageYear Five 60% coverageHead valves are warranted for Year One only. Gardner Denvermakes no warranty on components andor accessoriesfurnished to Gardner Denver by third parties, such as electricmotors, gasoline engines and controls. These are warrantedonly to the extent of the original manufacturer s warrantyto Gardner Denver. Electric motors must be equipped withthermal overload protection to have warranty consideration.The extended five-year warranty will apply to ASME airreceivers if they are installed on rubber vibro isolatorpads or approved equivalent.5 Year Electric MotorElectric motor is warranted for 60 months from start-up or 63months from shipment. Other manufacturers motors furnisheddue to customer request or special requirements carry themotor manufacturer s warranty.All units are built to ISO 9001 standards.Package WarrantyGardner Denver warrants each new air compressor packageto be free from defects in material and workmanship undernormal use and service for a period of one year (12 months)from the date of installation or 15 months from the date ofshipment by Gardner Denver. Units manufactured in Canadahave a pump and package warranty for two (24 months) years.Limited WarrantyWarranty shall not apply to any equipment which has beensubjected to misuse, neglect or accident, nor shall it applyto any equipment that has been repaired or altered by anyperson(s) not authorized by Gardner Denver. Failure caused bylack of proper maintenance is not covered by warranty.In no event shall Gardner Denver be liable for consequentialdamages or contingent liabilities arising out of failure of anycompressor or part to operate properly. When a compressorpump or component is changed or replaced during thewarranty period, the newreplaced item(s) is warranted foronly the remainder of the original warranty period. Locomotive compressors perform the criticalfunction of operating the air or vacuum braking systemsand other accessories in the locomotive. Our completeline of locomotive air compressors and compressorexhaustersincludes 3 cylinder, 4 cylinder, and 6 cylindermodels.The first Gardner Denver compressors designedfor locomotive use were water-cooled. Air-cooledcompressors came into use in the 1940s for dieselelectric freight locomotives with a car body design thatdirected a free flow of air to the air compressor. In the1950s, enclosed car body freight locomotives were builtwith higher horsepower engines that required the useof water-cooled compressors. Gardner Denver currentlyoffers both water-cooled and air-cooled compressorsand compressor-exhausters for a variety of locomotiveapplications.
