PRECISION MILLING OF MAGNESIUM BRONZE LINERS FOR THE STEEL PRODUCING I

A customer in the steel industry contracted us at American Precision Services to create the liners as highlighted below. Utilizing our advanced CNC milling machine, magnesium bronze material was manipulated to meet the specified contours, with the completed unit measuring 85 in length, 5 in width, and a height of 0.75. The tightest tolerances of +0.001-0 was met during production. Flame hardening was also employed for increased wear resistance and less distortion, and the unit was also deburred to smooth and remove manufacturing debris.
The liner was left with a raw finish, and received comprehensive inspections including visual, dimensional, and magnetic particle inspections to ensure quality and integrity. Thirteen liners were produced within a turnaround time of 30 days, shipped to the customer in East Chicago, IN. For more details about this custom magnesium bronze liner construction, or the other precision milling and machining capabilities available please see the table below or contact us directly.

CNC PRECISION MILLING OF STAINLESS STEEL BEARING HOUSINGS FOR THE STEE

A customer in the steel producing industry contracted us at American Precision to manufacture the bearing housings highlighted here. Utilizing 304 stainless steel, our CNC lathe, CNC mill, and welding equipment were employed to carry out production, performing precision milling, drilling, tapping, and fabricating processes to form the parts to customer requirements. The tightest tolerance of 0.1 mm was achieved during production. The machined housings were deburred for smoothing and cleaning. The bearings housings were then pressure tested, and thoroughly inspected with dimensional, visual, and magnetic particle inspection methods to ensure quality.
Overall part dimensions were 263mm in length, 246mm in width, and 104 mm in height, exhibiting a raw machined finish. Turnaround time for this project was 60 days, and included the fabrication 112 units for the customer with shipping to Burns Harbor, IN. For more information about this custom steel bearings housing manufacturing project, or the other capabilities available please see the table below or contact us directly.

SIX STAGE BOILER FEED WATER PUMP INSPECT Services

Alongside our recognized machining and manufacturing capabilities, customers trust us at American Precision Services with advanced repair services, as outlined in the project highlighted here. A customer in the water pump industry contracted us to service a six stage boiler feed water pump which had failed inspection. After careful inspection by our experts to determine necessary repairs, we reverse engineered the required components, drafting them in 3D modeling software. The software was used to virtually assemble the total unit, confirming clearances, fits, and sizes. A range of equipment was employed for the custom manufacturing process including CNC lathes, CNC mills, grinding machines, vertical boring mills, horizontal bar mills, dynamic balancing equipment and assembly fixtures. The parts were composed of 420 stainless steel, 410 stainless steel, CA-6NM alloy, 4150 HT steel, and 932 bronze all machined to tolerances of 0.001".
Functionality tests, visual and dimensional inspections were carried out to verify accuracy. Overall dimensions of the finished pump were 84" in length by 26" in diameter, with a weight of 2, 200 lbs. Features of the upgraded water pump include a capacity of 1, 400 gpm, 3, 600 rpm speed, 250F liquid temperature, discharge pressure of 1, 500 psig, and total head of 3, 588 ft. Turnaround time for this project was 120 days, shipped to the customer in East Chicago, IN.
