APC custom air filters can be designed to meet airflow ranges from 1 to 5000 SCFM with filter efficiencies ranging from 60 to 99.999995% at 0.3 microns including MERV filter ratings from 11 to 15. Virtually any filter shape can be made including heptagon, decagon, hexagon, pentagon, nonagon and triangle. Filter frames and end cap materials range from plastic (ABS, PVC, PS and more), polyurethane (Shore A to D scale), metal (extruded aluminum and galvanized metal), plywood and MDF (both standard and flame retardant). As a specialty custom shop, we are flexible and capable to provide quick turnaround on product design, prototyping, testing and production. Annual production capacity depends on the size and complexity of the air filter. APC can supply up to 1, 000, 000 small filters annually per year or fewer than 100, 000 filters for our largest size. APC complies with ISO 14129 particle count and ISO 9001:2008 quality manufacturing standards. When looking for an air filter for an application, the MERV rating is one of the most prominent qualifications to consider. Depending on the environment the filter will be used in, the MERV rating can play a large role in which air filter you choose. But what exactly does a MERV rating indicate? MERV stands for ‘Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value.’ MERV filter ratings are on a scale of 1-20 of how effectively a filter traps small particles. The higher the number, the higher the amount of particles the filter traps. It’s important to note that the number represents the filter’s lowest possible performance, not it’s best. It’s a ‘worst case scenario’ of how well the filter can perform. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) established the ranking system in 1987 and it has remained an important way to determine the efficiency of an air filter.

APC is also experienced working in the agricultural sector. We developed a custom antimicrobial air filter for a large commercial swine operation in order to reduce the prevalence of the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) among the livestock. Our custom high efficiency antimicrobial air filter system played a critical role in the client’s biosecurity measures.
