The Atkins Oversize Bolt Kit is designed to increase the structural integrity of the 13B engine under high horsepower applications. The rear, center, and both rotor housings need to be drilled out with a 12" drill bit (not provided) to allow the oversize bolt to pass through. The front side housing needs to be drilled as well as to be tapped with the provided drill and tap. At a bare minimum you will need a drill press to complete this task, the bolt holes in the front cast iron need to be straight and true, or the bolts will not thread when the engine is ready to be closed. A tap drill and bottom tap are provided to re-tap the front side housing, remember to use sound practices when tapping any holes. Five heat treated grade 10 bolts with a 12mm shank provide much more tensile strength and do not stretch like the stock tension bolts. Five tension bolt seals are also included to seal the bolts to the block.

The factory thermal pellet acts like a thermostat for the oil system. When the oil is cold it does not allow full flow to the rotors for cooling, only enough for the bearings. As the oil warms up it allows more & more oil to flow. When this fails, it does so in the cold mode, thus not allowing oil to fully flow to the rotors, which overheats them and causes damage to the oil control rings. This does not increase oil pressure. When the factory thermal pellet starts going out the thing clients comment on the most is excessive oil smoke at start up, which tends to go away as the car warms up and the catalytic converter cleans up the exhaust. Some people even notice the oil pressure being slightly lower. Our replacement pellet keeps the engine oil in warm mode so that oil is always flowing to the shaft thus fixing the problem of the faulty factory thermal pellet.

74-85 12A 3mm Atkins Apex Seal Set (ARE12-3)Six 12A 3mm Atkins Designed Apex Seals , Springs are sold separately. All of our apex seals are heat treated. The material for these seals has been developed by David Atkins over his extensive racing career in order to exceed stock apex seal life and durability. We have customers running 7 second quarter mile times with these seals. Customers use them in a wide variety of applications including turbo, NOS, superchargers, and naturally aspirated applications. Detonation will ruin any apex seal, none are immune from this problem. Some apex seals will bend under detonation, and become useless, due to lack of compression, these may break but they will do so inside of the rotor and save your housings. The benefit of these is that they can takes much more abuse before breaking than other seals can before bending.

Atkins Rotary has come out with a new brown water jacket seal, its square cut and seamless. It is impossible to put this seal in wrong unless you twist it on accident. We had our chemist select the correct materials in order to allow this seal to take an additional 150 over the stock inner water jacket seal. We have also re-used these in our race car a couple times without issue.

79-11 Rx7 Flywheel Ring Gear Brake (ARE923) No reviews. This will fit earlier engines as well. This bolts to the top two transmission bolts holes closest together on the intake side of the rear cast iron. One side is fits the non-turbo teeth on the flywheel, flip it over to use the other teeth for the turbo flywheel. This will not fit automatic Rx8 engines, unless maybe you used a huge stack of washers to line up the teeth, or got creative with the spacer; however this is not supported nor guaranteed to work.In Stock (905 items available)
