There are many different types of room correction technologies available for both home cinemas and dedicated two-channel listening rooms however none employ the incredibly unique Trinnov based room optimization technology. Trinnov, a name that stems from tri-innovation reflecting the most in depth study conducted on 3-dimensional acoustics, utilizes patented processes and techniques to accurately measure the loudspeakers' performance with respect to a room's acoustical profile. ADA's TEQ processes this data and while applying SMPT, RIAA or custom target curves, corrects position, elevation, phase, and amplitude among dozens of other parameters. The measurement process utilizes ADA's Tetrahedral Acoustic Probe (TAP Microphone) that features four microphones mathematically placed to triangulate the position and elevation of each loudspeaker in the system. By aiming the TAP microphone at the center of the viewing surface (or stereo image), the TEQ knows not only which direction the front of the room is with respect to the microphone's position, but also the relative distance, azimuth and angle of the speakers. Several measurements can be taken for any one of the 30 presets and measurement points can be weighted, so while some points represent "money seats" others points help determine the room's acoustical footprint. The end result is room correction without "over correction" so common with most other systems. While the TEQ-4 is intended for use in two-channel systems where four channels can be used for bi-amplified speakers, the TEQ-8 and TEQ-12 are ideal for home cinema. If your home cinema has more than the traditional 5.1 or 7.1 channel speaker array, then the TEQ with additional channels will come in handy (a TEQ-8 on a 5.1 system with additional speakers or a TEQ-12 on a 7.1 with additional speakers). The TEQ-8 and TEQ-12 offer unique re-mapping features. Here are some examples: Center Channels - While perforated screens permit the positioning of the center channel (and perhaps right & left channels) directly behind the screen surface for optimal localization of vocals, non-perforated screens and flat panel displays make this impossible. By using two center channel speakers, one below the screen and one above the screen (two channels on the TEQ in addition to your other speakers), the TEQ will image the center channel directly in the middle of the viewing surface. Alternately, if the right and left speakers are at an elevation so that the top of these speakers is close to the top of the viewing surface while the center channel is below the screen, the TEQ can pull the center channel image up into the viewing surface using the right and left speakers.
The Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B is ADA's superior home theater controllerpreamplifier. It features 8 HDMI inputs, 8 analog audio inputs, 8 digital audio input, and an 8 channel analog bypass input. There are also dual mirror HDMI outputs helping separate the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B from other preamplifiers on the market. While similar in design to the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV, the "B" version features balanced audio outputs. The Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B decodes all the latest Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Audio Master and Multi-Channel PCM soundtracks found on Blu-ray DVDs. Just as HD video is noticeably better than regular DVD, these high-resolution (lossless) audio formats are dramatically better than regular 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. You really can hear the difference and will never want to watch or listen to regular DVDs ever again. In a word, the home cinema as experienced on the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV is fabulous. The Cinema Rhapsody also has incredibly unique features that make it the only controller choice for many home theaters. In addition to featuring a simple to read and operate front panel control and its abundance of connection jacks, the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B incorporates two bass crossovers, one in the DSP and one in the analog domain. This makes it possible for the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B to work with full-range speakers, permitting them to play bass information while at the same time summing the bass of full-range channels with channels that are rolled off as well as the LFE (low frequency effects or ".1") channel. The subwoofer (speaker best designed to deliver bass) plays the bass from all channels simultaneously with the other speakers that are capable of delivering bass. With any other preamp, full range speakers would need to "roll-off" (not play bass) so that the subwoofer would play the bass. Not so with the Cinema Rhapsody Mach IV-B. Similar to providing a video loop facility so that one can incorporate the very best video processing, the Cinema Rhapsody makes it possible to incorporate the very best speakers into your system without compromising performance.
The Suite 7.1 HD is ADA's brand new home theater controllerpreamplifier featuring 8 HDMI inputs in addition to four analog audio and 8 digital audio inputs (6 coaxial & 2 optical). You can connect up to twenty components to the amazingly small (only 1 rack-unit tall) Suite 7.1 HD. But don't let its size fool you. The Suite 7.1 HD is the most sophisticated ADA home theater preamplifier to date, incorporating the latest Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Audio Master and Multi-Channel PCM decoding capabilities. These lossless uncompressed formats on high-definition Blu-ray DVDs sound amazing when listened to on the Suite 7.1 HD. Just as HD video is noticeably better than regular DVD, high-resolution audio is dramatically better than regular 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. You really can hear the difference and will never want to watch or listen to regular DVDs ever again. From film to TV series to concerts, everything looks and most important, sounds better on Blu-ray and the Suite 7.1 HD. Naturally, the Suite 7.1 HD also features decoding of the standard Dolby, DTS and THX formats as well as several proprietary modes for music and TV. From a technical standpoint, the Suite 7.1 HD features HDMI equalization per input and output to compensate for HDMI cable type and length. It also features a multi-band parametric equalizer per channel as well as other features only available from ADA. If high-definition is how you want to experience theater in your home, then an ADA home theater system is the very best choice you can make.
The Cinema Reference Mach IV is ADA's flagship home theater controllerpreamplifier.
