Composite Ovens Walton Process Technologies provides industrial ovens suitable for all aspects of aserospace processing including composite cures, tool preperationheating, and post cure operations. WPT Ovens provide superb airflow to ensure even temperatures with no cold zones throughout the oven. All ovens can be configured in multizone heating and control, either electric or gas, and use PCS for precise and accurate control and data retention. All gas heated ovens utilize our industry leading Low NOx Burner Systems for precise NOx and CO emission control. Experience WPT has unmatched experience in bond-press technology and manufacturing. We specialize in precision hydraulic controls and control systems. The standard method of heating and cooling is a closed loop, high-pressure water system for cost-effective heat transfer at temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Other heating options include electric and oil systems. Capabilities WPT has the capability to design and build high precision composite bonding presses that can exceed clamping pressures of 500 tons. We have yet to hit a limit on how much pressure we can generate with a bonding press while maintaining an even compression. Our bonding presses are designed to maintain square and parallel degree within .015 inches over 15 feet. This allows for uniform and repeatable processing of composite laminates. The platens can be specially configured to accept any customer tooling and equipment. Process Heating and Cooling Systems In addition to our bonding presses, WPT designs and builds custom high pressure, high flow process heating, cooling, and circulation systems for all makes and models of bond presses. Each process system can be built as a complete stand-alone system, or a universal system that is capable of feeding multiple bond presses. All bond presses run using our Process Control System, which has the capability to integrate with the bladder and mandrel pressure and heating controls which allows for highly complex cure schedules.

Our environmental goals include cutting energy consumption, lowering emissions, and reducing your companies’ carbon footprint, while increasing efficiency in gas fired thermal process equipment. WPT Green Systems has advanced gas fired thermal process equipment through the development of more intelligent burner technologies and controls, and is an industrial leader in low and ultra-low NOx burners, heat recovery systems and hybrid burner technology. Low and Ultra Low NOX Burner Systems The traditional autoclave gas burner system uses mechanical valves and linkages to control the air to fuel ratio. These systems do not account for the nonlinearity of mechanical components and cannot auto-adjust to accommodate a wide range of operation. Our low and ultra-low NOx burner systems utilize a nozzle-mixing, medium velocity, low excess air burner, with precision air to gas control valves, and an intelligent ratio controller to reduce emissions by up to 85% ppm and 99% CO ppm*. * See table below for details Why Worry About NOx Emissions? Nitrogen Oxide is a leading cause of greenhouse gases and photochemical smog, both of which effect the environment and the human body. The emissions of NOx can severely irritate lung conditions such as asthma and cause a reduction in lung function, as well.
The Difference Walton Process Technologies build all our autoclaves with our customers in mind. Our goal is to provide our customers with a quality piece of equipment that ultimately enhances their thermal process in all aspects of production. All autoclaves we build are built directly to your specification. We can build an autoclave to any diameter, length, pressures and temperatures. Process Control System WPT is home to a dedicated software development team that is continually updating and evolving our control software, PCS. PCS can run on all makes and models of autoclaves, as well as bond presses and ovens. PCS provides easy-to-read reports, networking capabilities, fully customizable, and meets all the requirements for AS9100 and NADCAP. Enhanced Coil Designs Heat Exchanger design and weld quality are absolutely critical to the durability of heating and cooling coils in an autoclave. Autoclave coils are subject to tremendous thermal and mechanical stress when placed into service. If improperly designed or poorly welded, they will crack and fail, potentially causing damage to your autoclave. WPT designs and builds heat exchangers for a service life that will remain efficient for as long as you own a WPT autoclave. Modified Thermal Designs We use a combination of high quality Rockwool Insulation and enhanced thermal clips to give our autoclaves excellent thermal retention. We use specially designed insulation clips that maintain minimal contact with the shell of the autoclave, to reduce thermal transfer, that secure the rockwool insulation into place. WPT can also interface our Control Systems with customer furnished heat blankets for specialized repair and bonding applications. Door Hinge The door hinge used on WPT Autoclaves is designed to resist drifting and sag by using a high quality hinge system that provides smooth and easy operation. Our door hinge is fully serviceable to ensure smooth operation for the life of the autoclave. Low and Ultra Low NOx Burner Systems Part of building an efficient autoclave is considering fuel consumption and the environment. WPT does its part by using high quality Maxon burners and precise air-to-fuel control systems to produce single digit NOx emissions. Thermal Recirculation Systems Our latest engineering development is our processed gas Thermal Recirculation System. Using a Low NOx burner simultaneously with our exhaust valve recirculation design, we are successfully recycling energy, usually vented to the atmosphere, and reintroducing it as the dilution media back into the autoclave burner system. This technology reduces fuel consumption from the autoclave by 20-25% during ramp and an incredible 80-90% during soak. Installed on an autoclave, it will reduce your fuel costs by a significant margin. Install this system on every autoclave in your facility for real energy savings.
