Bay welcomes the challenge of building miniature assemblies. We construct cable assemblies with conductors as small as 44 AWG. Our products are designed to meet our customers performance needs and size constraints. Our dedicated team of production specialists receives ongoing training and certification and works daily with stranded conductor as small as 44 AWG. The pictured assembly (lower left) combines a connector and 4-conductor cable consisting of: 2 conductors 26 AWG, 2 conductors 36 AWG, insulated with FEP, and jacketed with silicone rubber.

We specializes in miniature fine-wire assemblies and molded assemblies. This assembly looks simple enough, but the cable consists of four conductors of 36 AWG (744) stranded copper wire with an overmolded mini-DIN connector and flex relief. Soldering miniature cable to mini-DIN connectors requires a great deal of skill and know-how. To fabricate a plastic injection overmolded part without damaging the solder joints demands exacting process expertise.

We produce coaxial cable assemblies and are equipped to produce a wide range of interconnect products. The vast majority of these are custom designs for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Coaxial assemblies may be single lead cable, or the coaxial lead may be incorporated into a multi-conductor composite cable. Our customers customers demand performance. So, we frequently receive requests for cable assemblies that will hold up under extreme conditions, such as coiled cords that will remain flexible at low temperatures, or cable assemblies that can withstand pulling and tugging without electrical failures or intermittence. For example, the assemblies might attach to data input equipment used in warehouses. With people jumping on and off forklifts, it is a fact of life that cables will occasionally snag on the equipment and stress the connection.
