CIRCOR Aerospace, Inc. acquired the Loud Engineering & Manufacturing brand with a 40+ year history in 2005. A leading designer and manufacturer of actuation and landing gear components, CIRCOR Aerospace has worked with all the major airframers supporting both fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft.

Major programs include Global Hawk UAV and F-16 Nose Wheel Steering Actuators, and commercial aircraft main landing gear retract actuators and main and nose landing gear door actuators.

Working at the request of the U.S. Air Force, CIRCOR Aerospace developed a new, improved nose wheel steering actuator for the F-16 Fighter. The new actuator will significantly reduce aircraft maintenance time and cost for F-16 operators. This configuration has successfully received USAF approval, completed qualification testing and flight testing and is now in production for immediate deliveries.

Behind every CIRCOR Aerospace product is a heritage of excellence dating back to 1947 when the division was founded as James-Pond-Clark Company. The fledgling firm developed and marketed its first innovation a check valve that utilized a floating O-ring to provide a dead-tight seal. Shortly thereafter, the companys problem-solving skills came to the aid of the aircraft industry with a zero-leak check valve for fuel systems.

Hydraulic solenoid valves and manifolded sub-systems are used on primary and secondary flight control systems, landing gear deployment, door detection, braking systems and other pressure and flow controls sub-systems. Industria fuel valves are employed throughout the fuel delivery and control system for main propulsion turbine engines and auxiliary power turbine systems.

The use of an integrated system or manifold system allows reduced procurement time, single source manufacturer service, reduction of engineering time, and improved quality and reliability. Manifold systems provide trouble-free performance while minimizing usable space.
