The POLYBOOST™ line of wax modifying polymers is based on the polymerization of Normal Alpha Olefin (NAO’s). These unique, highly branched materials are effective crystal modifiers for most hydrocarbon waxes and non-polar resins. POLYBOOST™ can be used as an alternate additive to Stearic Acid or Microcrystalline Wax. In fact, POLYBOOST™ has been described as a “hyper-micro wax” due to its extremely branched molecular structure.

Clarus Specialty Products offers a wide selection of scale and fully refined paraffin waxes for a variety of applications. A few examples of our wide variety of melt points. Microcrystalline Wax – Its characteristics resemble those of the natural waxes closely, including its high melting point, high viscosity, flexibility at low temperatures, and high cohesion and adhesion. Micro waxes can be either soft and ductile, or, firm and brittle. Melting points range from 145 – 200+ degrees Fahrenheit. Color values include Black, Brown, Amber, Yellow, Ivory, and White. Micro waxes can be used as substitutes for natural waxes. Other applications include hot melt adhesives, chewing gum base, candle additives, laminating paper and foils, and polishes.

The adhesive industry is an area of concentration for Clarus Specialty Products. Through our years of experience in marketing refined petroleum products, including both process oils and wax, we have had the pleasure of working with both regional and multinational adhesive manufacturers. We offer a number of fully refined paraffins in the 140° F to 165° F range that seem to be integral to the adhesive formulators’ toolbox. Microcrystalline waxes are also very familiar to Clarus. These products range from soft and tacky to high melting with low needle penetration values. If desired, any of our products can be blended to achieve a specific profile of physical properties. All paraffins and micros are available in bulk liquid formats, as well as slabs and pastille (dependant on melting point and softness).

Clarus Specialty Products has a wide variety of products for the personal care industry. Examples of applications are: lip balm, lipstick, lotions, creams, depilatories, pomade, spaparaffin bath wax and many more. Our fully refined paraffin (126°F-165°F), microcrystalline wax, and petrolatum are FDA food and cosmetic grade. (Title 21 CFR 172.886, 176.170, 176.180, 178.3710) In addition to our standard products, we can custom blend wax, mineral oil, petrolatum, etc., to simplify your blending and inventory needs. We serve the candle industry be providing a wide range of paraffin’s, microcrystalline wax, and application specific custom candle blends. Container candles, pillars, votives, mottling candles, cut-n-carve, wick wax, and hybrid veggieparaffin blends are all available in solid or bulk form.
