Series AV (Automatic Variable pitch) fans are available in diameters up to 18 ft (5.487 m) in eleven different blade profiles. Larger diameters can be provided upon request. Each blade (either extruded aluminium or pultruded FRP) is connected to the bearing block through a high quality steel flange or pillow block. AV fans are available on “B” (flexi) and “M” (rigid) hub designs. Both clockwise and counter clockwise configurations are available in standard and reverse mounting types. Our third generation pneumatic actuator provides a linear and hysteresis-free response to the input (signal) pressure. Specifically designed for minimum maintenance, it assures the most competitive life cycle cost. In case of air failure the blade pitch is forced to either the maximum or minimum value according to the customer’s requirement. Alternatively, the blades can also be kept at the last pitch value by the addition of an air lock valve. The user can easily make adjustments to the blade pitch and maximum travel.

The COFIMCO-TANDEM® patented and trademarked design will revolutionize the fan industry. Extensive research, the application of aerodynamic concepts to fan blades through Computational Fluid Dynamic analysis (CFD simulation) and laboratory tests have resulted in the development of a new innovative design: the TANDEM® blade. TANDEM® blade is the combination of 2 airfoils held together with special tip and root caps which main feature is the creation of a low pressure area which delay the separation of the flow around the airfoil. Using TANDEM® blade compared to tradition airfoils results in the following advantages: Lift is increased; Drag and vortexes are reduced, fan efficiency in noticeably increased and a reduction in fan power adsorption is realized; Stalling angle of attack is increased allowing fan to operate as slow as 20 ms, which produces a reduction in noise. The new TANDEM® Blade design represents a great innovation in improving axial fan performance and as a consequence, increased cooling efficiency. TANDEM® Blade is available in two sizes 30TD for range diameter from 10 to 18 ft, and 20TD from 8 to 16 ft. From the measured data on site and by the various official tests carried out by the clients, we can confirm that the COFIMCO-TANDEM® is keeping the promises for which it was designed: (Increase of air flow, increase efficiency and therefore simultaneous decrease of power consumption required for its operation) we could also add that the COFIMCO-TANDEM® can be repaid through energy savings it offers. Cofimco also manufactures drive shafts and bearing blocks for wet and dry application since many years. For both applications are available anti-reverse. For Air coolers and air cooled steam condensers application, steel drive shafts and bearing blocks are based on either COFIMCO design or according to the drawingspecification provided by the customer. Composite Drive shafts After many years of R&D a composite driveshaft was developed as a direct response to industry demand for greater performance and high efficiency. Composite material protected against driveline deterioration from corrosion to guarantee a longer life with a very low maintenance cost. All the Cofimco drive shafts are dynamically balanced and completed with a durable UV Resistant Coating. Studied for wet cooling tower application, composite drive shafts with SS coupling flanges are available up to 4.5 m (DBSE) and for a power transmission up to 180 kw at 1500 rpm.
