We design and manufacture our FRP bridge decks to the unique performance requirements of your pedestrian bridge project. Design flexibility means FiberSPAN decking works with any superstructure configuration and incorporates all design features including crowns, cross-slope, skews, curbs, drain scuppers, non-slip overlay and railing attachments.

Our decks are available in a range of sizes, shapes and depths as well as different strength and stiffness properties for use with a range of bridge configurations. Lighter weight means faster installation with reduced load on the support structure. Corrosion resistant resins means long life cycles, greater than 75 years.

Dolphins

Conventional dolphins typically consist of a cluster of timber piles designed to take high impact loads from ferries and barges. The pile quantity in each dolphin can range from three to more than 50 piles. A single, large diameter FiberPILE can be designed to offer comparable strength and stiffness to an entire cluster of timber piles. Unlike timber, the FRP piles will not rot and are impervious to marine borers. In addition to the maintenance savings, the initial installed cost of the large diameter FRP piles is competitive with timber dolphins because of the reduced laborequipment costs required to drive a single pile.

FRP composite pipe camels have been designed to protect wharves and piers from the damage that can be sustained with vessel contact. The fiberglass structure is maintenance-free and unsinkable.

The exterior of the camel is a seamless outer skin of HDPE for abrasion resistance. There are no joints or gaps for water to collect. The interior of the tube is filled with closed cell polyurethane foam and ballast. The pipe camel attaches to the pier using eyebolts or chain passing through two stainless steel Hawse pipes.

FRP large diameter pilings and wale beams are the ideal solution for pier protection systems designed to withstand high energy impacts from both barges and ships. The enabling technology is our FiberPILE product. The FRP piles offer the strength of steel, but a much lower bending stiffness (EI) which allows for far greater energy absorption than traditional materials. Unlike rigid concrete and steel fender systems, the FRP system is designed to deflect and then recover, without damaging either the vessel or the fender.
