The AO Abrader tests lenses of varying curvature and thickness. The stroking arm carries the loading weight and an abrading pad holder. A predetermining electro-magnetic counter allows the sample to be abraded to the desired number of strokes. The test consists of cleaning the surface to be abraded and measured in a hazemeter. The surface is abraded, cleaned and measured in a hazemeter again.
The CSI Armstrong Abrader is the most suitable instrument designed for testing the resistance to abrasion of flat plastic sheet or film compositions. The Armstrong Abrader is designed to obtain quantitative measure of the resistance of sheet (rigid or semi-rigid) composition to the abrasive action of sand paper. Resistance to Abrasion by the use of this instrument is determined in terms of volume loss.
The CSI Bending Form is used for bending polymer samples to a preset radius of stress, in order to determine stress-cracking resistance.
