Darco Southern offers a variety of Fiberglass (Tetraglas), Silica (Tetraglas 3000) and Ceramic Rope products. Each provides unique physical characteristics and sealing performance. Common applications for high temperature ropes include seals for boilers, ovens and stoves as well as high temperature industrial packing and expansion joints. Even at elevated temperatures the fiberglass, silica and ceramic ropes are resistant to most acids and alkalis.

Control of fluid loss is essential to the successful operation of mechanical equipment used in fluid handling. Various methods are utilized to control leakage at shafts, rods or valve stems and other functional parts of equipment requiring containment of liquids and gases.
Compression packing is the oldest and still the most common mean of controlling fluid loss in mechanical equipment. Made from relatively soft, pliant materials, they find major use in rotary centrifugal and reciprocating pumps valves, expansion joints and many other types of mechanical equipment.

Darco Southern offers three types of Needled Blankets that provide thermal insulation and protection at high temperatures while offering excellent resistance to most acids, alkalis and solvents. These blankets are made from fibers that are mechanically needled together without chemical binders.
Fiberglass Blankets (Tetraglas) made of 100% E type glass fibers have a continuous operating temperature of 1000F540C.
Silica Blankets (Tetraglas 3000) made up of amorphous silica filament fibers have a continuous operating temperature of 1800F980C.
Ceramic Blankets made of high strength spun ceramic fibers, are available in three grades: Standard has a continuous operating temperature of 1800F980C, High Purity has a continuous operating temperature of 2300F1260C and Zirconia has a continuous operating temperature of 2600F1430C.
