When accuracy is critical with round, square, rectangular, or irregular workpieces, use these chucks. The hardened-steel jaws adjust separately to center precisely and are reversible. K99-095 and K99-100 Include backplates for the Midas 12201230 series. K99-102 and k99-109 feature a D1-4 backplate to fit all Granite machines and other lathes with the D1-4 spindles.

A collet is used to hold a workpiece or a tool. Various types of 5C collets are available. In addition to the standard round collet, there are collets designed to hold round, hex, or square. There are expanding collets and emergency collets that are made of machinable steel, brass, or nylon so you can modify it to your specification. By having more surface area to hold your work, 5C collets are the choice when you want to securely hold work and not damage the surface of the work. Thin wall workpieces that would be crushed in conventional lathe chucks or vises can also be safely and securely held by collets. A 5C collet works by being drawn into a taper that closes the collet securely onto the work. A 5C collet fixture, a chuck or holding fixture is necessary to use these collets. The self-ejecting lathe chuck key eliminates one of the most dangerous lathe accidents - the chuck key being accidentally left in the chuck when the lathe is started. When the lathe starts, the key can be thrown across the room, can injure the operator or others in its path, or damage the machine. OSHA will almost always require the self-ejecting lathe chuck key for manual lathe chucks. If safety is a critical concern, or the machine operators will be novices, if the machine operators will be infrequent users -- this self-ejecting key will help to eliminate this common mistake. The square drive nose is 38" and will fit in the standard 3-Jaw chucks on the Granite and Midas lines. The spring-loaded sleeve forces the nose out of the chuck when pressure is removed from the key -- you can't leave it in the chuck. The 6" long handle slides for better leverage.

The 5C Spin Indexer is a quick, simple and accurate device for mill work. Mount your workpiece in the 5C Collet and thread it into the indexer. Great for miniature work such as clock gears. Comes complete with precision ground, 36-position index plate, calibrated in 1-degree increments. 5C collet not included.

Don't worry we have all misplaced or dropped the screw as we were securing in the bit. Don't bother crawling on the floor just keep a few extra on hand. Replacement screw 47-511 fits with 12" boring bar. 44-021 fits with 58" boring bar and replacement screw 47-510 fits with the mini boring bar.

This Chicago Bolt secures the body of your quick change toolpost to your compound angle toolpost base. The hollow bolt with internal threads, slips into the body of your compound angle toolpost and fastens to the post of the compound angle toolpost. This part is included with the purchase of a Smithy Quick Change Toolpost.

This steady rest and follow rest kit is made to fit your Granite series machine. Cut thin or long workpieces with these rests. Steady Rests support work extending beyond the bed and clamps to the ways. Steady rest max diameter is 2.75". Follow Rest mounts directly to the carriage opposite the tool bit to keep your workpiece from flexing when the tool bit contacts it. Build your own custom brass tips or cut new ones when the original tips become worn.

A thread-cutting necessity, this pulley slows down your spindle speed allowing you to cut at slower speeds without losing torque. This pulley reduces the speed range on the 1220 machines by 50% on the dual-belt low-speed ranges only. Note: Replaces the current lathe idler pulley. (Belts pictured only come with 40-300G - belts already installed on Midas machine should be used with 40-300 and 40-300N).
