STEEL SILOS
Dixie-Southern fabricates steel silos for companies in the power, food processing, agriculture, chemical storage, water treatment, and oil and gas industries. We manufacture steel silos from stainless-steel or carbon-steel for safety and compliance and add protective layers for increased durability and longevity. Customized design, protective coating, and compliance labels are available upon request for steel silos.

API TANKS
Dixie-Southern designs, fabricates, and erects American Petroleum Institute certified above-ground welded-steel storage tanks for the oil and gas industries. As a custom steel fabricator, Dixie-Southern has the capacity to design, manufacture, and erect tanks suited to store all chemical and petroleum compounds used by a wide range of commercial and industrial companies.

We have decades of experience with API 650 tanks, which are the most commonly used tanks for above-ground storage. Dixie-Southern also provides other API-approved tanks, such as the API 620 and API 12D, which are used for specialty applications in a variety of industries.

STAINLESS-STEEL PIPES
Our stainless steel pipes are created at our 65, 000-square-foot fabrication plant located on a substantial 12-acre facility in rural West Central Florida which allows us to roll stainless-steel and large-diameter carbon pipe as well as spool pieces. We routinely create customized industrial stainless steel pipes over 144 inches in diameter.

Industry Uses
Dixie-Southerns large-diameter stainless steel pipes are often used in combined cycle power plants for circulating water systems. 300-series stainless-steel pipe products are also widely used by water treatment facilities. In fact, we recently produced two very large diameter stainless-steel pipe projects for two ozone treatment facilities in Florida.

SPOOL PIECES
Dixie-Southerns expansive 12-acre manufacturing site and 65, 000-square-foot facility in West Central Florida allows us to roll large-diameter stainless-steel carbon pipe and spool pieces. Were capable of rolling pipe that measures more than 144 inches in diameter.
Carbon-Steel Pipe Uses
Dixie-Southern supplies water treatment plants with high-quality stainless-steel pipe. Most companies in the water industry order pipe from our 300 stainless-steel series due to their many different applications in water treatment. The 316L and the 304L pipes, in particular, are among the most widely used in the industry.
Processing and Testing
To ensure the quality of all carbon-steel pipes, Dixie-Southern blasts and coats all pipes on site. In addition, we treat our stainless-steel and duplex pipes by soaking the materials in large troughs or applying solutions topically at our facility. Because we aim to exceed compliance, not just meet it, we perform magnetic particle assessments, radiography, and post-weld heat treatment evaluations on large-diameter pipes as needed.

Engineering and Manufacturing Process
Dixie-Southern uses cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing processes to ensure that our ASME steel pressure vessels meet all safety regulations and customer needs. The four-step process begins with design. Every ASME steel pressure vessel we design conforms to ASME Boiler and Pressure, Section VIII Division 1 or Division 2 codes. We allow our customers to review all ASME steel pressure vessel tank designs before procuring material and beginning fabrication. Once approved, we procure all required material from our trusted supply base. Because of our proximity to the Tampa Airport, the Port of Tampa, and Port Manatee, even those orders requiring special material rarely run into delays. Once the material is obtained, we begin the fabrication. Before shipping a completed product, a certified inspector will verify the products overall integrity with non-destructive testing (NDT), apply a national board (NB) label, and register it with the National Board of Boiler and Steel Pressure Vessel Inspectors. If the customer has not requested any customized testing, the product is then painted and shipped.

EXHAUST STACKS
Dixie-Southern assists with the design and manufactures stainless-steel and carbon-steel (HRSG) exhaust stacks for a number of companies in the energy industry. To accommodate customers in the power industry who need exhaust stacks, Dixie-Southern creates cylindrical or square exhaust stacks at our large fabrication facility. Large and oversized shipments can be quickly transported to the Port of Tampa or Port Manatee for barge or ship transport. This is an ideal solution for projects on tight deadlines that require extra-large ductwork or exhaust stacks that need to be assembled after shipping.
Specific steel exhaust stacks assignments include: HRSGs, air-quality control and coal power plant applications with simple or combined cycles for FGD and SCR systems. In addition, Dixie-Southern provides AutoCAD, 3D modeling and design, onsite painting and coating, post-weld heat treatment, and onsite NDT testing.
