The M3-SE product family is the ultimate power house in small, secure, man portable communications systems. A user configurable gateway, many of the M3-SE modules use the Cisco 5915 ESR and ESS 2020 switch at the core of the system, ensuring full IOS, network tunneling and call manager support The M3-SE product family is designed to support additional stackable modules including an additional router, switch, and batteryUPS module. All modules can be removed from the stack for reconfiguration, physical separation or rapid component replacement. It supports multiple acceleration engines based on customer network requirements, and uses a wide range of ACDC power inputs (110-240 volts alternating current [VAC] and 10-30 volts direct current [VDC]) plus an optional battery pack that supports operations for up to four hours on a single charge. Low-power solutions and clean integration techniques, that minimize packaging while maximizing capability, enable the system to meet stringent size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements. Especially in the area of total number of supported users (port density), ACDC input power range, battery backup runtime, operating temperature range, and case dimension specifications. The resulting system is suitable for use as an InitialEarlySustained special operations solution, effectively “cramming” all of the requirements into a form factor that is still man-portable and fits in a single-transit case.

The basic system consists of a primary router and a battery. An additional router can be added, if needed. Optional routers, radios, power supplies for , servers, and switches are also available to extend the capabilities of the M3-EX system. The fanless M3-EXR and M3-EXS provide routing and switching, ensuring full Cisco IOS, network tunneling and call manager support and provides LAN and PoE+ ports. These modules can be stand alone or used in tandem with each other either stacked or unstacked.

The M3C4G product family is capable of providing robust network capability support in a single man-carry transit case. The M3C4G chassis can house various components, such as a power control module (PA), and router or switch personality modules (PM). The M3-PAx also includes an internal managed switch that controls the flow of traffic (connectivity) between the individual modules in the primary chassis. All traffic between modules flows through the LAN switch in the power adapter or power control module, including (if applicable) traffic from external auxiliary chassis units. All installed modules can be either gigabit or non-gigabit and have at least one backplane connection on the bottom and an air intake vent andor fan.
