A Durable and Timeless Fastener At Dunlap Industries, we produce versatile and long-lasting metal zippers in a variety of materials. Metal zippers, both rugged and durable, have stood the test of time, being the oldest type of zipper still in production. The teeth of metal zippers are actually individual metal pieces stamped into the “teeth” shape which are then crimped onto the tape. Most metal zippers are made from flat wire while special types of metal zippers are made from pre-formed wire. These pre-formed zippers are commonly found in jeans and work wear due to their very high strength, durability and smooth touch. Dunlap Industries is able to produce both types, but prefers to offer the higher quality pre-formed zipper at a flat wire price.
