Our CNC LathesCNC Mills are proficient in MasterCam 3D Model, BMP, IGES, STEP, and TIFF. We can manufacture your OEM parts and all grades of material including carbon steel, cobalt, aluminum, bronze, titanium, and duplex materials with contour turning, form turning, taper turning, or straight turning. Our CNC Lathe 2, 4, 5, 6 axis machines are capable of working on parts as small as 116 of an inches to 25" diameter up to 6 feet in length. The CNC Mill4 axis has 40" x 60" in length of table with 16" 4-axis capacity, and our Horizontal CNC Mill with a working window of 3'x3' space. Ed's Precision Manufacturing, LLC has earned a solid reputation for machining tight-tolerance parts, from difficult materials, that withstand the extreme environments found in the oil field industry. Manufacturing this valve component presented us with two challenges - we needed to fabricate the parts from the very difficult-to-machine superalloy Inconel 718, and we also needed to maintain full traceability throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Working from customer supplied specifications, our engineering team developed and executed the CNC 4-axis turning and 4-axis milling operations required to fabricate both the larger, 4"O.D2.75"I.D. piece and the smaller 3"O.D2.5" I.D piece, free of deforming, and holding to the tight .001" tolerance requirement. Smoothed to a 16 finish, each of the components in this 500-unit order was inspected for quality and shipped, will full traceability documentation, to our customer in Louisiana.

Demonstrating our skill at rapidly fabricating specialty prototype parts, Ed's Precision Manufacturing, LLC was contracted to manufacture this alloy steel downhole reamer. Required for a research and development project in the oil field industry, this one-of-a-kind part, with a 13" O.D., overall length of 20", and weight of over 180 lbs, was large, heavy, and required precision handling.
Supplied with a 3D CAD model with the latest technology in machining centers, our skilled machinists prepared the 3D CAD model needed to generate the programs for executing the complex 4-axis milling and turning operations required to create the intricate cutting edges along the body of the part and then finish to 120 Ra. In-process inspections verified that all features of this reamer held to the precise .001" tolerance required to meet the research project specification.

At Ed's Precision Manufacturing, LLC, one of our specialties is short run production of large parts. We manufacture this large diameter steel plate, used in an offshore drilling application, in quantities of 5-25 per order for just-in-time delivery to the customer.
The highly efficient and easily repeatable multi-step manufacturing process for this alloy steel plate starts on our heavy duty, advanced technology CNC lathe, where the outer diameter is turned to 20", and turning and boring techniques are used to create an inner diameter of 10.5". Additional operations, carried out on a CNC mill, involve drilling the holes along the outer diameter, and boring the holes and milling the slots along the inner diameter. The part, finished to 32 Ra, is inspected to ensure that all features are with the tight .001 tolerances required in the customer specification.
Careful handling of these 125 lb. parts ensures timely, damage-free delivery to our customers.

This aluminum valve component is one of the many parts we have manufactured at Ed's Precision Manufacturing, LLC to meet the needs of the oil field industry. Planning efficient, cost-conscious manufacturing operations required strict attention to detail because of the wide variety of machining techniques required to produce this multi-featured part.
Having state-of-the-art technology equipment allowed us to efficiently turn, thread, and groove the multi-dimensional outer diameter, create the chamfered edges, and drill and bore the inner diameter. We utilized live drilling to create the holes because we were working with aluminum, which allowed higher turning speeds while still ensuring precise accuracy. Smoothed to a 64 Ra finish, the part dimensions of 2.75"O.D.1.5" I.D. were maintained within very tight .005 tolerances.
We continue to manufacture this part, in quantities of 100-300, for just-in-time delivery to a customer.

At Ed's Precision Manufacturing, LLC, we are proud of our ability to manufacture superior quality parts that provide extended wear life, even in the harsh, high pressure conditions found in oil field operations. This tool, fabricated for use within a downstream fishing application, is one such example. The customer specification called for Inconel 718, chosen for its ability to withstand extreme environments. Our engineers developed a process that utilized specific machining techniques best suited for working with Inconel to avoid rapid work hardening and deformation of the part. An additional requirement was that we maintain full traceability throughout the manufacturing cycle.
This fishing tool was first turned, drilled, and bored on our heavy duty CNC lathe to a 6.500" O.D.5.250" I.D. Subsequent operations for milling the slots were accomplished on our 4-axis mill, chosen for its ability to make precise, aggressive cuts on this very hard metal. Smoothed to a 32 Ra finish, the piece was closely inspected to ensure it was within the strict .001" tolerances of the specification, then shipped to the customer along with full traceability documentation.
