EGC specializes in designing and manufacturing custom thermoplastic and elastomeric precision components for a wide range of industries. Fibrex® material are specifically designed for bearings. They consist of a unique fabric weave of PTFE Glass fibers which is bonded to a stainless-steel backing with a durable adhesive. The PTFE fibers provide extremely low friction while the glass fibers provide structural support and a surface for bonding. The stainless-steel backing provides extreme load-bearing capabilities beyond the range of solid PTFE and any other solid-lubricant bearing. Fibrex® Bearings are a unique thin-wall bearing design that offers the strength and stability of a stainless-steel body with the low coefficient of friction (.05-.1) and tribological properties of a reinforced PTFE matrix. With a maximum bearing load of 50, 000 psi and the ability to withstand temperatures up to 350°F, our Fibrex® bearing is dimensionally stable, self-lubricating, non-conductive, and non-magnetic. Both radial-bearing and thrust-washer designs are available. Applications include valves, commercial fire sprinkler systems, mixers, blenders, swivels, and extruders. EGC’s insulated PTFE tape offers excellent sealing properties where high temperature or chemical resistance is needed in electrical applications. Applications include cable insulation, flight actuators, landing gear, and braking systems. It is resistant to oils, chemicals, water, solvents, and gases and can be manufactured in a variety of colors: Natural Standard White High Contrast White (laser markable) Gray (laser markable) Our capabilities are diverse and are designed to meet a wide range of requirements. We manufacture tape in thicknesses starting at 0.0025'' (0.064 mm) and widths from 316" to 11-12" (4.7 to 292.1 mm). Product is delivered in rolls that can be packaged as either pancake or traverse-wound, depending on the slit width.

OptiSeal® and OptiVee® seals and packing systems are energized seals that provide reliable, low- friction sealing solutions. They come in a variety of profiles and materials; each specifically manufactured to address your individual application. The basic design of the OptiSeal consists of a U-shaped jacket made from an inert thermoplastic. It’s then energized by a compressed V-shaped metal spring or O-shaped elastomer. The seal’s performance in extreme temperature, pressure, and media make it an ideal choice for severe- service sealing.
