Vacuum Impregnating of Wound-Copper Coils for the Electronics Industry
Endicott Coil Company, Inc. produced these vacuum impregnated wound copper coils for a customer in the electronics industry. Because this process requires no tooling, it is a cost-effective alternative to molding or encapsulating. We placed the wound copper coils in a vacuum pressure impregnation tank, which removes the air and replaces it with a varnish or epoxy impregnant. We matched the resin to customer requirements for a variety of properties, such as chemical resistance, moisture resistance and dielectric characteristics. The process also required curing the pieces in a temperature controlled oven.

These Coils are Molded to Guard the Coil from Environmental Conditions
At Endicott Coil Company, Inc., we manufacture a range of epoxy molded, wound copper coils for use in the transportation, power, aircraft, and electronics industries. To protect these magnetic components from harsh environmental conditions, we mold the coils using a carefully selected thermoplastic or thermoset epoxy compound, such as Hysol, Rynite, Ryton, or Cyglas, depending on the application requirements. Produced in sizes from less than 1 in up to 6 in, we design and develop all tooling in-house for both prototype and production molds, which also helps us to reduce customer expense.

Encapsulating of Wound-Copper Coils for the Electronics Industry
Endicott Coil Company, Inc., we produce encapsulated wound copper coils for products used in the construction, automotive, transportation, and electronics industries. In addition to providing protection from harmful environments, encapsulating also offers high dielectric and isolation properties and can be a more economical option than molding, especially for low to medium volume production.
After choosing the encapsulating material based on customer specifications, we either use a pouring or pneumatic dispensing process to fill either open faced or closed potting molds, depending on the application. Curing takes place in ovens with precision temperature controls to ensure optimal performance characteristics of the encapsulant. Gage testing verifies that tolerances are held to 0.010", while inductance, Hipot, and surge testing guarantee that the final products meet with customer specifications and VDE (Germany) standards

At Endicott Coil Company, Inc., we manufacture a series of industrial vibrators and buzzers that are used in material handling applications to assure the uniform and continuous flow of viscous fluids, prevent caking of tiny particles, eliminate bunching of tiny parts in conveyor systems, and maintain a smooth and level surface in flowing powders or pellets.

Endicott Coil Company, Inc. manufactures premium ferrites for the electrical industry. Ferrites are used for producing transformer and inductor ferrite cores. Before ferrite cores, manufacturers faced power limitations due to the massive weight of traditional steel cores. When high frequency performance is needed, ferrites are smaller and have less eddy current loss than silicone steel laminations. Use of ferrite cores also reduces the amount of copper required because fewer turns are needed in the winding.
