We are offering back pressure regulator for 2 phase flow. The research series is a precision back pressure regulator designed to work with two phase (mixed liquid + gas) flows that are commonly found in catalysis research. the equilibar uses a unique design where a flexible diaphragm is the only moving part. the diaphragm seals directly against multiple parallel outlet orifices. this design allows gas to escape out some of the orifices while liquid pressure is regulated by other parallel orifices. pressure is accurately maintained even when slugs of liquid or gas temporarily surge out of the test reactor vessel. back pressure regulators of a traditional design have wide pressure fluctuations as the different levels of gas and liquid enter the regulator. the equilibar design allows the gasliquid separator to be located in the low pressure part of the circuit on the output of the back pressure regulator. this prevents the requirement to use a high pressure separator.

The equilibar works differently from old fashion traditional designs. a supple diaphragm is the only moving part. This diaphragm is frictionless unlike most regulators that rely on a rising stem and multiple dynamic seals. The equilibar diaphragm is large in area to provide high sensitivity to vacuum pressure changes. the evr series is manufactured from stainless steel 316l alloy and ptfe teflon. this allows the evr vacuum regulator to work directly with aggressive chemicals, high temperatures, or wet media. the evr is often used for vacuum distillation and vacuum crystallization applications because it can regulate vacuum pressures directly with the hot, wet, and chemically aggressive media.
