Metal alloys based on titanium, vanadium, aluminum, cobalt, copper, iron, and nickel are manufactured with low interstitial impurities. These high purity metal alloys are used when common grades cannot meet the purity specifications for certain advanced applications. Eutectix LLC metal alloys are produced in the following compositions – custom made to your exact specifications. This is a list of readily available high purity metal alloys we manufacture.
Eutectix manufactures high purity rare earth metals in rods, foil or ingot form and as sputtering targets. The rare earth metals are those elements in the lanthanide series, atomic numbers 57 through 71 and scandium (atomic number 21) and yttrium (atomic number 39). Please consult with us if you have special requirements or are interested in powders. In general, the specifications for most of the rare earth materials are 99.9% REM, excluding Ta. Some rare earths will not have Ta. Typical foil thicknesses can range between 0.001 up to 0.06” thick. As thickness increases the material is machined differently and we refer to them as targets.
Two PVT vacuum induction melting furnaces, each with 1, 000 lb. capacity can attain 40 microns pressure for producing rare earth alloys. Vacuum melting operations begin with loading rare earths and metals into the furnace. Oxygen is removed and the mixture is melted. The molten alloy is poured into a mold. vacuum induction furnace vacuum induction furnace shows the crucible and mold A third vacuum induction furnace, AVS VIM (500 lb. capacity), provides added capacity suitable for smaller melts. Combined, the three furnaces offer redundancy and backup. FacebookTwitterGoogle+LinkedIn

Vacuum annealing alters the physical properties of rare earth alloys and metal alloys. Depending on the materials and the conditions, vacuum annealing can be used to alter strength, ductility or other properties. Rare earth alloy castings, for example, are loaded onto a trolley and rolled into the annealing furnace. Once oxygen is removed, the temperature is increased and the parts are held for a period of time to modify the alloy microstructure.
