Our tool making process involves both design and creation. Our expert engineers work closely in teams with our staff tool makers, designers and machinists to bring superior quality and high performance to each piece we manufacture. We source our raw materials direct from the mill and obtain competitive pricing and lead time advantage for every product. The design process allows for the ultimate in reliability and precision tooling. As a resource for tooling and machining, F&B provides stamping up to 300 tons and molding dies and components to meet the needs for every project. We have a range of punch presses, both mechanical and hydraulic, that offer up to 1, 000 ton capacity. Our punch press department is proficient in trimming, deep drawing, piercing and forming. Certified to ISO9001 and hydroforming AS9100 since 1999, our company is also approved hydroform NADCAP for nonconventional machining, heat treating, nondestructive testing and welding. We are also certified for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and have a Six Sigma Black Belt. A leader since 1923, F&B Manufacturing experience in hydroforming brings cost effective solutions in sheet metal to it's customers. An expert staff brings knowledge to the fabrication process and sees projects all the way to completion. Our hydroform process produces unique results that meet or exceed customer specifications. The four step process involves the following: Positioning Forming chamber is raised, and then blank is placed on draw ring. Initial Pressure Forming chamber is lowered and pressure is applied. Variable Pressure Variable controlled pressure allows blank to conform as punch moves upward. Pressure Release When pressure is released, forming chamber rises with punch position lowered away from finished part. Hydroforming involves the application of pressurized hydraulic fluid to form metal into shapes that would be challenging to achieve with other techniques. Typical fabrication materials include high temperature alloys, steel, titanium, aluminum, copper and brass.

Our aerospace welders are individually certified to weld specific material groups such as stainless steel, nickel based alloys and aluminum. All of our welding is NADCAP certified and endorsed by a broad host of aerospace primes. Since 1999 we've maintained ISO9001 and hydroform AS9100 standard certification and received 4 NADCAP approvals for nonconventional machining, heat treating, nondestructive testing and welding.

Our use of CNC technology makes us one of the leading manufacturers today. With two computer numerically controlled laser machining centers, our customers receive high performance parts that are built to exceed their expectations. Using this advance technology has allowed F&B to increase precision while reducing labor cost and production time. Instead, we are able to produce an affordable end product that eliminates excessive trim or added tooling costs. With CNC and conventional lathes, our machine shop provides turning capacities up to 48 inches. While we offer full service conventional milling, we also have CNC mills that are able to process larger hardware. So what are the advantages of using CNC manufacturing? Less Labor Required – several steps are eliminated in the production process. Rather than using pre-blanks, full metal sheets may be used so that one person may take on multiple tasks that previously required several people. CNC laser machining equipment is programmed specifically for each project. Better Tolerance Control – the precision of CNC equipment is phenomenal as they can work with very small measurements and maintain exacting accuracy. Productivity Increase – CNC machines are easily programmed using advanced software, which allows the systems to produce for extended periods of time without shutting down. Being able to create custom parts quickly helps to reduce the costs of production and limits errors in manufacturing. Safe Production – there is no need for human workers to position equipment during production. Users only need to monitor the process and adjust for any corrections.
