Your carrier frequency, resonance which could be due to mechanical resonance, or electrical resonance due to the PWM output frequency to the motor. Vector or Volts per mode settings on the VFD (variable frequency drive). It could well be a bearing or balancing issue on the fan. I would say that one should investigate all possible mechanical issues first, and then eliminate Resonance, Harmonics that could cause audible noise in the motor windings or even being amplified and transduced by the VFD itself. I am electrical engineering student and they just thought dc to ac converter in power supplies. I have been trying to do this conversion but the output my doesn't gives a pure sin wave. Probably you need some coils and condensators to improve quality (filter). For frequency converters there is some factory made filters but price is not cheap.
