The e-lectroloc is an intelligentsmart barrel lock & key system that eliminates all the inherent problems with traditional barrel lock & key systems used by utilities today. Both barrel locks and keys are feature rich and programmable. This system could very well be the last barrel lock and key system installed at a utility. Keys are programmed to time out on a speci c day and will not function or open locks until authorized utility personnel reprogram the key. This feature ensures that after the timeout period expires, the barrel lock and key system will not be compromised (used without permission) even if keys are lost or stolen. Key control concerns are now a thing of the past. In addition to the time out feature, the key can be programmed to operate a speci c lock code or as a supervisor that can operate multiple lock codes.The key design includes a collet or metal collar that secures the barrel lock to the key, allowing one hand installation of the barrel lock. Incorporated in the key design are a rechargeable 3.7V battery and a button with LED con rmation that the key unlocked the barrel lock correctly. The face of the e-lectroloc is solid and sealed therefore dirt, sand, and water cannot enter the lock mechanism. This also prevents disgruntled consumers or vandals from inserting foreign objects into the lock mechanism. The barrel lock can be reprogrammed by the factory to a new lock code if necessary. The Highfield Universal Padlock has been designed specifically for use on Electric, Gas and Water distribution systems. Among the multitude of applications, the padlocks can be used to secure wing type valves, electric meter installations, electrical switchgear installations, CT cabinets, and other assorted enclosures or equipment with a latch or provision for a padlock. The lock extractor kit from Highfield has been engineered for fast, efficient removal of inoperative barrel locks from any type of security hardware on a utility system.The unique design of the extractor element utilizes a reverse taper pin. This allows the lock to be grabbed from the inside diameter of the key hole avoiding damage to the surrounding hardware. In many cases the hardware may be re-used after extraction of the lock.Because the lock extractor operates on this principle, it eliminates relying on extracting locks by use of the cross hole provided in the head of many barrel locks, and assures the older locks on a utility system may also be removed.The one-time-only use of the extractor element insures accountability of extracted barrel locks by operating field personnel.
