The reservoir of a hydraulic system can be a significant source of contamination. At the same time, the reservoir is an ideal location for correcting adverse fluid conditions. The application of proper HYDAC reservoir accessories will allow for the monitoring and control of oil cleanliness, temperature, and level. Breathers are commonly overlooked, or regarded as a commodity, and selected based solely upon price. This mistake can cause system inefficiency and component failure, resulting in lost production and costly repairs, especially when harsh environmental conditions exist. Using high quality HYDAC breathers and filler breathers will effectively combat the ingression of airborne contamination and moisture, therefore increasing the efficiency and reliability of the system. The addition of new oil to a reservoir is yet another opportunity for contaminant to enter the system. Sometimes large contaminant, which will undoubtabley cause catastrophic damage to the pump. HYDAC filler breathers will ensure that large contaminant do not enter the tank during filling, and suction strainers will keep any large contaminant that do exist in the reservoir from entering the supply line. New oil also contains more fine particle contaminant than recommended for most systems. Thats right. most new oil is "dirty." Removal of these fine particles is easily accomplished by using HYDAC portable filter carts, or hand held filtration units. Fluid level must also be monitored to avoid starving the pump. HYDAC offers fluid level indicators (sometimes called sight gauges) which allow for the oil level to be viewed outside of the tank. These indicators are also available with electric switches which can be used to trigger alarms. Thermometers and thermal probes are additional options in HYDACs line of fluid level indicators.

The advantages of an off line cooling system are a stable cooling and filtration performance irrespective of variations in flow and dutycycle of the main hydraulic circuit. This allows the cooler to be sized to fit the heat load and not the maximum return flow of the main circuit. Additionally, cooling systems are quoted and manufactured on a custom orders. And lastly, Maintenance can be performed on the filters without having to shut down the main system.

Ten years ago a diesel engine did not require anything close to the level of filtration provided by HYDAC. With poor quality filters the engine would still run, maybe not efficiently, but it would run. But with today's, engines both the particulate and the coalescing filters must be of only the highest quality. Be assured the results of poor filtration are no longer just black smoke and a lack of horsepower. No, with Tier 4 engines' poor filtration will likely mean lost revenue due to downtime as the operator pays to replace a failed injector. These problems are both manageable and should not add cost. With good filtration installed at the fill point, the engine will run more efficiently and continuously, but the filters used and the higher level of filtration required can no longer be an afterthought. It must become the focal point of any feel and or any operator. Filtration quality and the profitable operation of any Tier 4 engine will become one in the same. The Tier 4 engine is a technology shift and when compared to Tier 1-3 engines, Tier 4 engines require a completely superior level of filtration to run, much less to run reliably and efficiently. Tier 4 diesel engines will now react more violently if the injectors are constantly bombarded by contamination. To put this into perspective newly delivered bulk diesel fuel typically has an ISO cleanliness level of ISO 222018 to ISO 211917 but today's injectors need to see fluid with a cleanliness level of below ISO 1186 (aerospace cleanliness).
