Damping Sheets
Industrial Soundamp E vibration damping sheet is a self-adhesive pad used for sound and vibration damping on metal panels. The adhesive side is smooth, giving complete contact with the underlying surface without air pockets or channels.

Soundamp E is odorless, wear-resistant and impregnated to prevent the absorption of water. Both pad material and adhesive can withstand temperatures between -22F and 248 F and are highly resistant to aging.

To apply: Soundamp E should be cut to the desired size and shape before the backing paper is removed. It may be cut with scissors, knife, or die. Remove dust, grease, moisture and other foreign mater from the application surface. Peel off the backing paper. The simplest application technique is to bend the pad slightly and attach it along its shortest edge. The pad is then pressed firmly into place, preferably with a roller for larger pieces. This reduces the risk of leaving air pockets, which reduce the sound damping capacity. The temperature of the pad and application surface should not be below room temperature during fitting.

Applications: Buses and railroad cars, ships and boats, generator enclosures, off-highway equipment, relay cabinets, bins, chutes, hoppers, and machine guards.

Melamine is a lightweight, high temperature resistant, open cell foam manufactured from melamine resin. It combines excellent thermal properties with superior sound absorption capabilities to create a versatile fiber free product which can be applied in situations which may prohibit the use of urethane foams or fiberglass insulations. This fire retardant foam meets the flame spread, smoke density and fuel contribution requirements necessary to comply with Class-l building code regulations. The high performance thermal and acoustical characteristics of this flexible, low density foam make it an ideal product for in-plant and FDA approved applications.

In addition to being the solution to aircraft and architectural noise problems, Acousti-Foam Melamine Foam is the material to use in OEM products requiring a combination of thermal and acoustical insulation capabilities. Optional facings can be applied for more durability and chemical resistance as well as pressure sensitive adhesive for ease of installation.

Standard Sizes - Sheets: 24: x 48", 48" x 48", 48" x 96"
Standard Thickness: 14" to 18"
