Gaskets at IGS Industries At IGS Industries, our gasket production has been a staple of our business for decades. It’s what our business was founded upon. We offer custom part marking and kitting per your specifications, and our parts can be stamped or water jet cut for incredible precision. We can produce gasket quantities from one to over one million from a multitude of materials in thicknesses from .0005” and up. We offer in-house laminating of materials and we can coat gasket materials with special application coatings (such as dryback adhesives, tacky adhesives w release paper, varnishes, edge-bonding, glyptol, and more). Why Gaskets? Simply put, gaskets create a tight seal between two parts. This seal prevents leakage of liquids or gas. Why O-rings? O-Rings come in many styles and shapes. Depending on temperature, pressure, chemical, and other environmental factors, O-rings can be crafted from a variety of materials. Additionally, O-rings can be supplied with an X cross section, better known as a quad ring. Quad rings have twice the sealing surface as a standard O-ring, and also requires less compression to maintain an effective seal. This reduced compression results in longer seal life and lower risk of twisting. Quad rings also have an advantage over standard O-rings in the fact that the parting line is between the lobes of the quad ring and provides for a better, more uniform seal. Duct-Tite Duct-Tite is a fibrous paste sealant used for sealing industrial ducting where high temperature and pressure resistance are needed. Hylomar® A polyurethane-based gasketjointing compound that contains polyesters and silica. Unlike RTV silicones, Hylomar doesn’t harden. It transforms into a flexible putty when the solvent evaporates. IGS-1000 IGS-1000 is a moist, hand-applied pack used as a heat shield and heat sink for protecting sensitive parts while welding, soldering, or brazing. KelSeal KelSeal is an alumina-carbon, resin-bonded joint sealant used between slide late plates, nozzles, and SEN’s around the ladle and tundish areas. Ladle-Lip Seal Ladle-Lip Seal is a protective covering for ladle lips during slag raking or used as a gasket for degasser lids. Mill-Pac Gray Mill-Pac is a heavy paste sealant for use in primary metal, foundry and smelter industries, as well as for sealing boiler and oven doors and burners. Mill-Pac Black Mill-Pac Black is an environmentally friendly, mechanically-bound sealant for use in the home heating appliance industry. Mill-Pac Black is used to seal direct vents, flues, fireboxes, and other applications. MP-3000 Is a mastic refractory material that has several uses in the continuous molten metal casting industry, including dummy bar packing, dummy bar repair, SEN anti-splash guards, and many more. Real Seal Real Seal is a universal gasket made from 100% expanded PTFE. It is a radically different form of PTFE fluorocarbon material. Although very strong and tough, it is soft and “marshmallowy” in character, permitting it to conform easily to irregular surfaces and to compress to a thin, wide ribbon under pressure. RTV Silicone RTV Silicone Sealant- Industrial Grade is a one-part acetoxy cure adhesive sealant that is suitable for general industrial sealing and adhesive applications. Silver Seal II Silver Seal II is a silver-gray paste sealant that is exceptionally durable under conditions of high temperature and pressure. Steel Seal Steel seal is a dense, highly-filled paste sealant with steel fibers; it cures to a very strong solid creating a “damming” action that plugs leaks. Stovemate Mortar Stovemate Mortar is a ready-to-use, high-temperature soft mortar patching compound. Temp-Tite II Temp-Tite II is a plastic, high-solid sealant extruded into rope or gasket form and applied to a joint face, making it possible to seal complex joint designs without a premade gasket. Turbo “50” Turbo is a heat reactive resin used as a sealant or joint dressing on machined, grooved, or threaded joints. Turbo “50” is thinned for brushing. Turbo “R” Turbo is a heat reactive resin used as a sealant or joint dressing on machined, grooved or threaded joints. Turbo “R” is 100% solids resin.
Duct-Tite at IGS Industries Duct-Tite is a fibrous paste sealant used for sealing industrial ducting where high temperature and pressure resistance is needed. Applications include paint ovens, drying and curing ovens, flue stacks, heat exchangers, or any other high temperature ducting which may or may not see pressure. During joint assembly, sealant will flow into rough or irregular surfaces to provide a durable seal. Duct-Tite expands under heat and cures to a leathery like consistency, and will not crack due to thermal cycling or vibration. Sealant will outlast silicone above 500°F and is inert to most industrial chemicals. Joint disassembly is easy as the sealant does not excessively harden which allows for quick separation. Duct-Tite is not classified as a hazardous material and is able to be shipped by any means worldwide. Typical Applications: Paint, drying, and curing ovens. Flue stacks. Heat exchangers. Other high-temperature ducting (both pressure and non-pressure applications). KelSeal at IGS Industries KelSeal is an alumina-carbon, resin-bonded, joint sealant used between slide gate plates, nozzles, and SEN’s around the ladle and tundish areas. It has excellent resistance to erosion by molten steel and very low permeability at steel making temperatures to prevent steel leakage and air aspiration through refractory joints. KelSeal is the original formulation for longer service time around the tundish area while KelSeal XG is formulated for shorter runs on ladles and ease of separationclean up. We construct our setting blocks from high-quality vinyl or neoprene to work under a temperature range of -30oF to 220oF. We offer setting blocks in all types and sizes for various situations like heavy-dutyindustrial, commercial, and residential glass panes and insulating glass planes. Why Setting Blocks? Setting blocks hold insulating glass in a window pane to protect the glass from the impact of opening and closing, and from the impact of various temperatures upon the window that can cause expansion and contraction.
