L.J. Star Incorporated now offers 2 varying styles of the Safety Clamp--the Shrouded Safety Clamp and the Lock-Out Safety Clamp. Both variations are designed to further increase the safety of hazardous high temperature piping lines often associated with steam and CIPSIP cleaning processes.The Shrouded Safety Clamp benefits from the added safety feature of a domed nut replacing the wing-nut. The domed nut guarantees the clamp cannot be loosened by hand. Coupled with the added security of the free rotating nut shroud, the clamp can only be released using the correct socket adapter. The Lock-Out Safety Clamp is an advanced version of the Shrouded Safety Clamp with the wing-nut again being replaced with a shrouded domed nut. However, the shroud is extended in length and modified to accept a number code or key operated padlock. The Lock-Out safety clamp ensures the processpiping line can only be accessed by a designated operator who had the padlock's key or combination number.

Safety Bolt

The newly designed Safety Clamp improves operator safety throughout the industry. It specifically targets hazardous high temperature steam lines. It is extremely important to use a safety clamp for pipe connections and sight glass mounting since steam presents both high temperature and high pressure. The Safety Clamp's 'gate' style section combined with its stepped eyebolt assures that the bolting mechanism cannot swing open while the clamping union is part or fully assembled. Releasing the safety clamp is only possible when the wing-nut has been significantly loosened to enable the smaller diameter of the eyebolt to swing through the sectioned gate. This ensures that the clamp cannot be knocked or accidentally opened.

Terracon is proud to introduce the TerraMark permanent identification system for plastic products, the first of its kind in the pharmaceutical industry. TerraMark is a proprietary process of permanently applying chemical-resistant color-coded labels to plastic tanks and components, allowing permanent identification and tracking information to be affixed. Color-coding provided quick visual reference to prevent cross-contamination errors at every handling stage. Current methods of identifying plastic components include taping labels on, scratching numbers or letters into the tank or spray painting through stencils. All of these methods have their drawbacks.
