Magnaflex

JacksonLea has developed a revolutionary new buffing material, which possesses characteristics never achieved with other buff cloth. The MagnaFlex material is primarily used in mush buffing of non-ferrous metals. The MagnaFlex material can be made in a variety of different constructions from basic airways to full disk to sew pleated type products which enable JacksonLea to customize the MagnaFlex buff to our customers finishing requirements. The MagnaFlex buffs possess many significant advantages to the traditional buff cloth products. In the majority of non-ferrous metal mush buff applications the MagnaFlex will outdistance the traditional buff by 2 to 5 times the life while also reducing the amount of compound usage by as much as 25% to 50%. The double benefit of the MagnaFlex buff product is unprecedented in our industry. In addition to the cost savings from the reduction in compound usage and the increase in parts produced for the buff product, there are significant savings from reduced downtime for replacing buffs. The MagnaFlex buff generates half the buff residue as a traditional buff product. The MagnaFlex is available in diameters up to 26 with varying amounts of density. The buff is also available with a 3, 5, 7, and 9 diameter center ring and as mentioned above can be made in full disk, airway, and pleated constructions. The MagnaFlex is a specialty product and must be used differently than traditional buffs; and as a result, requires our technical sales force to support the introduction of the MagnaFlex buff into your finishing operation. Please call our technical group for more information and advice on our patent pending MagnaFlex buff.

Churchhill Spyrl Roll

The unique construction of spiral wound material gives these rolls the flexibility needed for lapping, clean up, and non-streaking benefits. Buffs are wound on a long shaft up to 48 for wide face buffs. Cloth and Sisal Spyrl Rolls are used effectively for heavy cut or de-scaling, while Cloth Spyrl Rolls are used for clean up after sisal cut down on sheet stock or silverware such as flatware, cutlery, and hand tools. Each revolution of the rolls produces an extra side motion of the buffing element much like a built-in oscillation, producing streak free work. Spyrl Rolls are available either in all cloth or cloth and sisal finger buff construction. Spyrl Rolls can be dip treated to alter the firmness

Pleated

Our specialty designed pleated buffs make outstanding tools for many finishing operations, including the door hardware, cookware, and plumbing fixture industries. Our pleated buff variations are countless and their versatility is the reason they are one of the most widely used JacksonLea buff products. Almost every day a new application is developed with a pleated buff addressing a special finishing need. We offer two types of pleated buff constructions: SEW PLEAT buffs have a soft buff face with excellent flexibility. These buffs are ideal for mush buffing highly complex and contoured parts. HOT PLEAT buffs have a hardfirm face with some flexibility. These buffs are effective tools for contact buffing and provide excellent cut, often replacing sisal buffs. All of the pleated buffs have excellent compound retention ability and maintain consistent buff density throughout the buffs life. Standard pleated buffs are available in sizes up to 26" diameter. Our ability to modify several features of a pleated buff enables JacksonLea to create buffs for almost any conceivable application. The key features of pleated buffs that can be modified include: (1) pleat size; (2) number of ply; (3) density (pack); (4) special sewing (such as Spiral or Concentric); (5) cloth material; and (6) specialty treatment.

Sandshaper

Our Sandshaper Wheels achieve aggressive polishing while conforming to the shape of the part. The wheels combine a fast cutting ability of coated abrasives with the flexibility of a buffing wheel. The Sandshapers unique patented construction allows high rates of cut in such operations as preparing automotive die castings, polishing plumbing goods, deburring machined parts and wooden handles. The Non-Fray Fiber Center buffs are unique to JacksonLea. The Fiber Center buffs are constructed in a wind-type fashion, which creates a unique pleated buff. This product is used when a metal ring buff is not practical for the finishing application, such as in recessed lighting, hollow ware, jewelry, and other applications that require the buff being placed inside an enclosed area. The buffs can be purchased in a variety of different diameters and cloth densities as well as with all cotton cloth, poly cotton blend cloth and our orange mill treated cloth.
