Stock" is the general production engine offered in a production vehicle. Stock engines receive JASPERs tried and true methods of remanufacturing, including torque plate honing, three-angle valve seat machining Precision crankshaft machining, oil chamfering and polishing and computer-assisted live-run testing.

The "Class I" engine is the same JASPER general production engine, but with a mild camshaft upgrade. Class I engines generally produce about 10% more horsepower and torque over the standard stock engine.

The next step up is JASPERs "Stock Performance Engine." These engines utilize a more aggressive camshaft profile compared to the Class I engine. They also receive performance cylinder heads as an upgraded bolt-on part. Heads for the 6.0L receive new intake & exhaust valves, new injector tubes & glow plug tubes and new intake & exhaust seats. Every head is Magnaflux inspected and pressure tested to ensure that the head is free of cracks. JASPER also improves the surface finish of the head to 150 Rz or lower in order to prevent leaks. Heads are also vacuum tested to assure proper sealing with the block. To ensure an easier installation, JASPER includes the head gasket, head bolts and replacement push rods.

Bearings are preloaded to OEM specifications which provides for longer bearing life along with the units smooth operation and its proper break-in.
Differentials are inspected for correct backlash clearance. This inspection is performed to assure proper gear lubrication for reduced noise and to avoid overheating, especially important in severe-duty applications.
Tooth contact pattern is inspected and adjusted to utilize the full structure of the gear. This procedure assures minimum gear noise and reduced gear fatigue.
Loctite is applied to the bearing races in order to provide maximum securement.
JASPER remanufactured Jeep Differentials include electric or air lockers if your application is so equipped.
