Jowitt & Rodgers Co. manufactures cylinder wheels for a wide array of grinding machines and applications. We produce wheels for both nut inserted and clamped mounting. Our wheels are used in a vast range of applications, including machine knife and chipper blade grinding, Blanchard grinding, multi-spindle machines and cutlery manufacturing. Our wheels meet the highest industry safety standards. All are speed tested to insure that they are safe to run at their rated speed. The wheels also have tape reinforcement to doubly insure their safety. The ID’s can also be wax coated if required. Wheel sizes range from 200mm to 26” in diameter.

J.R. offers a range of epoxy and resin bonded abrasive products specifically designed for cutlery and tool manufacturing. EPOXY bonded wheels offer high strength, cool cutting, high stock removal and excellent finishes. These wheels are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes to fit most standard machines and wheel speeds typical to the industry. Our epoxy bond can be modified to control the porosity and hardness of the wheel. With this flexibility, combined with a wide selection of grains, we are able to customize the grade to match a wide array of applications.

We produce one of the widest range of segment shapes and sizes in the industry. They include all of the common Blanchard grinding shapes, knife grinder shapes and shapes to fit most of the less common European grinding machines. Chances are we have the exact shape and size you need. We have segments to grind machine knives and chipper blades, steel plate, aluminum and aircraft alloys, tool steels and low carbon steels, cast iron and many, many other applications. Our proprietary ceramic grain segments specifically designed to ‘hog off’ material offer exceptional value for grinding steel plate on large, high horsepower machines.

Jowitt & Rodgers Co. is an expert in double disc grinding technology. Our staff, with decades of experience, understands this grinding field and utilizes their knowledge in both wheel design and application. We not only can supply the best wheels in the market, but also can provide expert advice on set-up and application. We manufacture nut inserted disc wheels in sizes ranging from 8” to 72” in diameter. Our unique manufacturing process produces wheels that have extremely consistent quality both wheel to wheel and throughout the depth of the wheel.

Jowitt & Rodgers Co. manufactures resin bonded peripheral grinding wheels in sizes ranging from 12” to 36” in diameter. Our proprietary resin bond technology produces wheels that are excellent for grinding hardened materials and other difficult to grind alloys. Some typical applications include general surface grinding, centerless grinding and roll grinding. Wheels may be straight (Type 1) or recessed either one side (Type 5) or both (Type 7). As all wheels are speed tested to 1 ½ times their maximum safe operating speed, please specify both the operating speed and if recesses are required when ordering.
