A client from the lawn and garden industry came to us for a spring that would be used on a commercial grade lawn mower. They needed a standard design compression spring with ground ends and a zinc plated yellow dichromate finish. We fabricated this compression spring on our CNC spring former and our CNC spring grinder from 0.112" diameter spring steel music wire. The springs were de-burred, plated with yellow zinc, and heat treated to 500F.
The final dimensions of the springs measured 0.720" outer diameter, 0.496" inner diameter, and 3.000" of free length with coil specifications of 87.4 lbin. spring rate, 13.5 total coils, and 11.5 active coils. All compression springs passed dimensional and visual inspections and tensionload testing. We produced 500 units in 3 weeks while upholding tightest tolerances of 0.008".

In need of an extension spring with complex end hooks, a conveyor industry client knew that Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame was the company to turn to for this product. The application required an extension spring with reduced coils on each end that would be used in a clamping device in a packaging plant. These end hooks increase the life expectancy of the spring.
The springs were made using our CNC spring forming equipment from spring steel music wire with a diameter of 0.080". Measuring 0.750" outer diameter and 1.80" initial length, the springs were made with coil specifications to 5.8 lb of initial tension, 11.5 total coils, and 11 active coils. The springs were heat treated to 425F and had a plain finish. Throughout the fabrication process, the springs received dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and tensionload testing. We worked to tightest tolerances of 0.010" on this spring project.

Aware of our ability to form high tensile spring wire in 3 dimensions, a client from the agriculture industry came to us for a retainer clip that would be used as a link on a mesh conveyor belt. The client supplied the 2D CAD drawings and we fabricated this pod mesh retainer clip from oil tempered spring steel wire with a diameter of 0.12"0.125", and a plain finish. Utilizing our CNC wire forming equipment to bend the wire, the clip had dimensions of 2.515" long, 0.625"wide, and 0.625".
Working to tightest tolerances of 0.010" and angular tolerances of 1, we guaranteed the highest quality products with in-process testing and inspections such as dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and deflectionload testing. The production run for this retainer clip was 3, 000 units. We completed the fabrication and delivered the products in 3 days.

A beverage maker came to Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame for a unique, custom designed display rack to showcase their malt beverage products. Working from the customer's 2D CAD drawings, we fabricated this 4 shelf twister rack with casters that featured product identifier strips and a sign holder. The 'twisted' appearance of this rack was eye catching and distinctive.
The rack was fabricated from bright basic steel wire in various diameters. We formed the wire using our CNC bending equipment and assembled the pieces with robotic welding and resistance welding. The wire was finished with a gloss-black powder coating. This rack had final dimensions of 20" wide x 18" deep x 48" tall and was designed to hold 24 six-packs of malt beverage with 6 packs on each shelf. We produced 2, 000 of these racks and delivered them directly to beverage distributors throughout the U.S. Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame exceeded this customer's expectations by producing an economical and stylistic display.

We produce springs that measure 0.156" to 150' long with outer diameters ranging from 0.062" to 5.0". Spring wire can be manufactured with a minimum diameter of 0.015" to a maximum diameter of 0.500". Spring operating temperature is dependent on the material; however we can produce springs that have an operating temperature of up to 1200 F. Our springs are suitable for products such as valves, hand tools, punch and die tooling, guards for hoses or hydraulic lines, and medical devices.

With over 50 years of experience in manufacturing wire forms, Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame understands the needs of our clients. Our wire form manufacturing service produces wire form products from a wide a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes. This means we will be able to produce a custom product exactly to your specifications. Our manufacturing capabilities include bending, deburring, chamfering, CNC wire bending, cuttingshearing, flattening, MIG welding, resistance (spot) welding, rounding, straightening, threading, and grooving.
We work with low carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire, and spring tempered wire to produce parts that have wire diameters ranging from 0.015" to 0.500". We produce rings, squares, rectangles, and ovals in both 2 and 3 dimensions. Parts can have conical, spherical, and square ends and be finished with powder coating, plating, stress relieving, heat treating, tumbled deburred, passivating, and electropolishing.

Retailers are very aware of the value of displaying items in a pleasing and effective way. We worked with a convenience store client to create a countertop display that would hold recreational items for customers to purchase. This 12 prong counter top display rack was space saving because of its small footprint and had a sign holder incorporated.
The customer supplied the 2D CAD drawing and we designed and fabricated the display using 0.156", 0.187", and 0.250" diameter bright basic steel wire. Bending the wire on our CNC wire former produced the components that were then assembled using our multi-head resistance welding equipment. The display rack had dimensions of 12" x 6" x 10.5"and was finished with a black gloss powder coating. We produced and delivered 1, 000 display racks in 3 weeks time.

At Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame we have the capabilities to meet our client's needs and requirements. When a client in the beverage industry needed a sturdy but space saving display rack, they knew we had the expertise to produce a first-rate rack. This 9-case rack featured three shelves that would hold two cases each, and one shelf that would hold one case. This well-built rack was mobile and had space for graphics and signs.
To ensure the strength of the rack, it was made from 0.312" diameter bright basic steel wire, 1" square 16 gage steel tube, and 2.625" wide by 16 gage 1008 cold rolled steel. We used many fabrication processes including CNC wire forming, punching, drilling, tapping, shearing, press braking and robotic and resistance welding. We also applied a powder coated blue finish. Measuring 21" x 17" x 54", the rack was fitted with four swivel wheels for easy maneuverability and was load tested to 250 lbs. We produced 2, 000 racks and delivered them to beverage distributors throughout the U.S.
