Open die forgings have low tooling costs but are consistent enough to machine easily. We offer many variations to fit individual situations and can produce replacements from samples or sketches. Our skills allow us to combine changes in size and cross section, tapers, balls, pads, offsets, and bends on a single piece.A unique combination of forging, riveting, and machining. Nitronic 50 chain and shackle assembly for mine sweeping. Chain links are 58 diameter. Round link is 1” diameter. Oval links are 34” diameter. 34” shackles and pins are made entirely at Lawndale Forge.

Send us your difficult to bend parts in carbon, alloy, stainless, and high temperature alloy. We specialize in heavy bending that cannot be done cold.3 inch diameter 1045 bent hot on a 4-12” inside radius. Parts weigh 225 pounds each.

Machined, stamped, or thermally cut plate is hot formed to close tolerances in our hydraulic presses. Some parts are quenched in the die and immediately tempered. Machined blank is hot formed and heat-treated using furnaces custom designed for this part. Edge height is straightened to .020 TIR around the cutting edge of this knife.
