Parker ProTech Bearing Isolators

Parker's ProTech bearing isolator is the "ultimate in bearing protection", designed for zero lubricant leakage and the total exclusion of contaminants. ProTech has excellent chemical resistant seals that perform well in high speed and high temperature environments. Parker's labyrinth technology provides contaminant exclusion, instead of an internal o-ring protection. The ProTech 360 is designed for flooded oil and oil mist applications, and the Millennium profile is a metallic isolator that is unitized without internal o-rings or locking rings. Parker provides ProTech in many standard designs and custom designs. Some of ProTech's features and advantages are:

Unitized, two-piece, non-contact design
Zero lubricant leakage
Total exclusion of contaminants
Extends bearing life
Exceeds IEEE-841 for electric motors
Expedited delivery available
Superior chemical resistance
Two-way sealing by using non-contact labyrinth seal technology
ProTech 360 design (flooded), for tough gearbox applications including vertical down
ProTech WD design in the food processing area, meets IP69k

Rotary Lip Shaft Seals

The Parker FlexiLip is a rotary lip seal that seals dynamically on the shaft, and seals statically in the bore with an elastomeric O-ring on its ID. The seal can function at much higher surface speeds (to 5000 sfpm). The Parker FlexiCase rotary lip seal has an ID lip that seals dynamically on the shaft, with metal casing on its OD to seal statically press-fit into the bore. The lip is not spring-energized and the radial lip contact forces are low, so that the seal can function up to 10, 000 sfpm.

Wide variety of composites and plastics
Non-spring energized lips
PTFE components can withstand most chemical applications
Inch and metric gland geometries available
Great versatility, for use in a wide range of applications
Precision machined seals & bearing isolators
For use in applications where conditions exceed elastomeric seal capabilities
Low tooling costs on FlexiLip
Low costs and high production capabilities for the FlexiCase

FRENZELIT GRAPHITE GASKET MATERIALS

Macroseal stocks and cuts many different types of graphite gasket materials: Thermoseal Klinger HL, SLS, and PSM; Flexitallic Flexicarb ST and Flexicarb SR; and Durlon FGS95, FGLPE, FGL316, and FGT316. These are the most common styles of graphite gasket material available on the market-the pure graphite sheet, graphite sheet with a tang core, or with stainless steel insert. Gaskets can be produced with a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing, if requested.

Frenzelit is another supplier to Macroseal of excellent graphite and non-graphite sealing products. In addition to compressed non-asbestos sheet, high performance beater addition, expansion joints, textiles, mill board, woven and non-woven thermal insulation barriers, Frenzelit is in the forefront of sealing technology with products like its Novatec Engineered Graphite material. Novatec 825F, Novatec 925F, and Novatec Premium lead the way in Frenzelit's fine line of graphite and non-graphite products. Other specialty products include the Novapress line, the Novaform line, and high-performance beater add materials such as Novatec HPN.

Graphite gaskets can handle higher temperatures
Gasket stability increases with filled graphite gasketing materials
Anti-stick properties for many styles eliminate flange gasket cleanup
Graphite gaskets conform to pitted and aged flange surfaces
Frenzelit Novapress Multi II and Novapress Multi EG will handle 1022 deg. F.

Expansion Joints

Macroseal offers many types of spool, or bellows, type of expansion joints. Special joints are available to handle internal piping pressure but that are flexible enough in lateral, axial, or any type of angular configurations. Both concentric and eccentric expansion joints are available. Unaflex and Proco are two of the quality companies for which Macroseal offers expansion joints. Rubber joints are available in chlorobutyl, EPDM, gum, hypalon, neoprene, nitrile, SBR, silicone, viton, and can be multi-arch, offset, or produced for special drilling. Typical metal expansion joints, usually manufactured with carbon or stainless steel, are typically bellows profile or wrapped with flexible steel braid. Pump connectors and flexible corrugated metal hose assemblies are also available. PTFE expansion joints are demanded for their excellent chemical resistance. PTFE bellows liners are usually produced with steel or rubber covers and flanges.

Standard flange and non-standard flange sizes available
Special molded arch designs in rubber expansion joints
Shapes in rubber expansion joints can be round, square, rectangular

Restructured PTFE Gaskets

PTFE has been recommended for a variety of sealing applications, particularly where chemical resistance is a critical factor. Macroseal stocks and produces many styles and thicknesses of PTFE and PTFE-added gaskets, sheets and gasket material. Standard PTFE sheets of virgin and repro are cut and shipped daily, as well as the glass-filled PTFE used in applications to decrease cold flow. Newer products in recent years have included restructured PTFE, such as the Gasket Resources (GRI) Durlon 9000 and 9200W, for use against more aggressive chemicals, and the Flexitallic Sigma line (Sigma 500, Sigma 511, Sigma 522577, Sigma 533, Sigma 588, and Sigma 599), with a biaxially orientated structure, for use in the toughest applications.

Excellent for use against the most aggressive chemicals
Styles such as Durlon 9200W and Sigma 533, reinforced with barytes (barium sulphate) are recommended for hydrofluoric acid service
Restructured PTFE sheets conform to FDA requirements
Durlon 9000 does not require special processing for oxygen service
Non-toxic
Can be produced with narrow cross sections, in a wide variety of shapes
Highly preferred for use in glass lined, plastic and ceramic flanges

Extruded Rubber

Macroseal stocks and sells o-rings for all types of static and dynamic applications. O-rings are available in both metric and standard sizes. O-rings are available in viton, nitrile, EPDM, PTFE, neoprene, Parker Parofluor, epichlorohydrin, butyl, silicone, and PTFE backup (rings). Macroseal also sells quad rings, O-ring cords, square-cut O-rings, and vulcanized O-rings for any and all types of non-standard sizes. Splicing kits and O-ring measuring cones and tapes are available. Parofluor O-rings are used in high-temperature applications and are resistant to most media.

Extruded and molded rubber parts are available through Macroseal, in an endless variety of designs and compounds. Simple square or rectangular designs, with or without pressure-sensitive adhesive peel-off backings, to complicated computer-generated profiles, are always sold or stocked at Macroseal. Whether the requirement is for servicing high temperatures or high pressure applications, soft and recoverable sponge for door applications, silicone or viton for harsher environments, the staff of Macroseal can provide technical assistance and quick quotations with competitive pricing.

Much as pliable rubber parts are molded or extruded, harder materials such as PTFE can be machined to close tolerances. The most common of machined PTFE materials would be virgin PTFE or glass-filled PTFE; many other customized fillers are available for these machined PTFE parts, including graphite, Peek, Ryton, fiberglass, molybdenum disulfide, nylon. These products are almost always made to order.
