Marsh Industries utilizes compression, transfer and injections molding technologies to ensure a perfect match to any customer requirement. In the injection molding process, a high-speed ram forces the un-vulcanized rubber from a cylinder through a nozzle and into a closed heated mold, by pressure independent of the pressure that holds the mold closed. The two halves of the mold are attached to heated platens. The ram injects only enough material to completely fill the mold and then retracts, so rubber for the next cycle can be loaded into the cylinder. Advantages of injection molding include shorter molding cycles, little to no pre-form preparations, low scrap rate, and less excess flash to remove after production.

Marsh Industries, Inc. prides itself on the quality of our onsite mixing and milling capabilities. This critical manufacturing process allows silicone rubber compounds to meet a wide spectrum of specifications, which cater to customer requirements, while maintaining a tight control over compound quality. Marsh Industries, Inc. can provide compounds to meet a wide range of color. Customers can choose from an assortment of standard colors, or if necessary, we have the ability to color match compounds with provided samples. Marsh Industries, inc. has over 600 standard recipes to meet a wide variety of specifications. Standard compounds meet military, federal, AMS & SAE specifications.

Marsh Industries has nine pneumatic bonding presses using a hot vulcanization process to provided bonded rings and custom gaskets from either standard or custom cross-sectional profiles. Marsh Industries uses catalyzed compound to bond the gaskets endless, which makes for a much more durable splice compared to standard RTV bonding. The compound is typically the same color and compound that is used in the cross section. The result is a bond strength that exceed conventional bonding processes. Using the bonding process, Marsh Industries, Inc. is able to offer a cost-effective solution for sealing applications. In addition, not only does bonding the seals allow for the ability to have hollow profiles, but also offers a solution to the seals that cannot be molded.

Marsh Industries employs three die-cutting presses to accommodate a wide range of precision die cut gaskets. When parts only require two dimensions and have a standard thickness, die-cutting in many cases becomes a suitable and much more cost effective option over the molding process. Marsh Industries can take a customer’s print and provide a single to multiple cavity die board utilizing the latest in die-making technology to produce both simple and complex configurations. From washers to high-volume length cut products to complex configurations, Marsh Industries has the capabilities to fulfill all customer die-cutting needs.

Since its inception, Marsh Industries, Inc. has specialized in the extrusion of silicone rubber products for the lighting, appliance and aerospace industries, as well as for processing aids in the second and third tier automotive industry. We can manufacture extrusions to your specifications and can assist you in developing a product design that best suits your needs. In the extrusion process, silicone rubber is extruded to make such products as tubing, solid rods, profile gaskets, seals and preforms used in compression molding. The silicone compound is continuously forced through a die that forms it to the desired cross-sectional size and shape. After the extrusion process, the silicone is vulcanized and cured.
