Mezzo’s oil coolers can be provided in cylindrical or rectangular packages and are traditionally designed as a cartridge meant to be inserted into a shell. Mezzo can design and source shells as well, if needed. Our oil coolers are very popular in some of the most competitive levels of auto racing. Mezzo's microtube coolant-air intercoolers are the highest performing intercoolers in the automotive industry. Multi-pass, cross-flow, counter-flow designs provide effectiveness in the range of 98-99% in real world applications. Like Mezzo’s radiators, Mezzo’s intercoolers provide very low charge air pressure drop for a given heat load. The combination of lower charge temperature and reduced pressure drop give the customer what is needed: more power! The benefit of a Mezzo intercooler is amplified when coupled with a high performance Mezzo intercooler radiator, and a high performance Mezzo engine radiator. By virtue of Mezzo’s heat exchanger’s unsurpassed thermal performance and low pressure drop, the resulting cooling package can be smaller and lighter than a competing air-air intercooler.

Mezzo has built shell and tube heat exchangers for applications ranging from inch-long oil coolers moving only a few kilowatts, to air-air heat exchangers measuring several feet long, moving more than 1 megawatt. Mezzo is well equipped to provide heat exchangers for the most demanding applications and has experience designing high-temp heat exchangers with working temperatures well over 1000°F and high-pressure heat exchangers that handle up to 8000PSI. Phase change material (PCM) heat exchangers are often used in thermal systems that have cyclic heat rejection requirements.
