is equipped with over 20 injection presses that allows us to do rubber injection molding for our customers. Our Princeton, Indiana facility has the capacity to produce small to large sized production runs while still offering individualized customer service. The rubber injection molding presses are more automated than our hydraulic presses. The press opens the mold and it also closes the mold, allowing for the rubber to be properly cured. Rubber injection molding is used for large parts, particularly parts that with thin walls and large surface areas. Each of the molds are designed and manufactured by independent tool shops with proven track records of quality craftsmanship.

Mid-States Rubber is a leader in custom rubber and plastic products, specializing in molding and extruding rubber and plastic parts for heavy industries. The project highlighted here was designed for use in the material handling industry and manufactured from a client's 2D CAD drawing. It was composed of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber due to the polymer's stability to oxidation and resistance to brake fluid, gas permeability, water, and moderate concentrations of chemicals. Cold feed extruded with in-line curing and cutting to exact specifications where the processes applied by an advanced extruder, and the expert staff provided custom packaging. The part featured dimensions of 106" long, 6"wide and 2.4" tall, with a tightest tolerance of RMA A3. All work was done to customer specifications and to the standards set by the Rubber Manufacturing Association. The project represents a total run of 3, 000 pieces, which were delivered in three to four weeks.

At Mid-States Rubber, rubber caster wheels are fabricated to be the highest-quality wheels. Rubber caster wheels are available in diameters from 1” to 8” in all hard rubber construction as well as hard core and soft tread. Inner diameters are available as plain or with metal or plastic bushings. Ball bearings are also an option if specified by the customer. We can customize the wheels by manufacturing them in a desired color and they can be made conductive if that is what the application requires. Working with our customers over the years has given us an edge in knowing how to make a quality product that meets the demands of an industrial environment. We know what makes a good rubber caster wheel that will be able stand up to its load. At our facility we are equipped with the machinery and the knowledgeable employees to handle large or small orders. The molding process we use to create theses caster wheels is one of know-how and expertise.
