The DependaPower Firewater Pumps are EPA Tier 3 diesel-driven horizontal split case (or overhung axial split case for the 1500 model) centrifugal pumping systems designed to pump large volumes of water in emergency response operations. Through hoses or hose relays, the pumps move water at high flow rates to feed discharging devices to cool the fire, dissipate hazardous vapors, and carry chemical agents to extinguish the fire. The pump, diesel driver, and integral fuel cell are built on a common independent modular skid. The skid can also be built as a hook-loader skid or integrated onto a dual-axle trailer for great mobility and be easily detached for stand-alone operations. The entire system is optimized for performance, mobility, efficiency, reliability and ease of use. These pumps have low regular maintenance requirements and can be up and running with minimum training.

The DependaPower Firewater Pumps have proven track records as the workhorses in industrial firefighting operations. They can and have handled some industrys greatest challenges. In addition, they are suitable as pressure boosting pumps for water accessed by other means, redundant water source for fixed systems or for dewatering flooding zones. Several models and extensive options are available to meet the specific requirements of the customers.

Swivel Hydrant Manifolds

Fire field logistics are nearly as critical as equipment on hand and personnel availability when responding to industrial hazard situations. Large fires require large volumes of water, which sometimes require multiple large diameter water supply hoses. The most convenient, reliable, and safest means of distributing large volumes of water over an entire facility is by constructing underground water delivery systems with above ground hydrant manifolds. These hydrant manifolds are then used in conjunction with large diameter water supply hose to supply the necessary water to pumps, nozzles, and foam proportioning equipment.

Williams Fire & Hazard Control (WF&HC) now brings conventional hydrant manifolds to a new functional level with an incorporated 360 rotating swivel built into the main riser of the unit. This swivel will allow the first responders to reposition the hydrant in the most advantageous direction depending on the location of the hazard and lock it into place using onboard swivel lock. This feature enhances the logistical efficiency of large volume water supply and reduces clutter around the hydrant manifolds. Choose from the vertical or Tee style and many available options to match your application requirements.

Inline Eductors

Inline Foam Eductors provide the simplest and most economical method of introducing a metered flow of foam concentrate into a pressurized water stream. As opposed to Hydro-Foam Technology which is used in union with master stream nozzles, these Venturi-Type foam proportioners are designed to be used in conjunction with a matched constant flow end-of-line device (e.g., nozzle), where adequate water pressure is available. The pressurized water stream creates a vacuum (the Venturi effect) which is used to suck foam concentrate into the eductor body. The dosing of the concentrate is controlled by either an orifice plate or a metering valve. The concentrate enters and mixes with the water stream. The foam solution exits through the outlet of the inductor.

Optimum performance of these inline eductors is achieved with 200 psi (13.8 bars) inlet pressure. These eductors are rated to flow 60, 95, 125 or 250 gpm (227, 360, 473 or 946 Lpm) @ 200 psi (13.8 bars) inlet. Although they are capable of operating at inlet pressures as low as 70 psi (4.8 bars), in most cases adequate residual firefighting pressure at the nozzle requires that the eductor inlet pressure be at least 100 psi (6.9 bars), or greater. Lower inlet pressure will result in lower flow and affect the proportioning rate.

Eductor body and venturi jet are constructed of corrosion-resistant brass. The positive setting metering value can be set at 0, 0.5, 1, 3 or 6%. Standard water inlet is a (F) NPSH connector and the outlet (M) NPSH connector. Each eductor is supplied with a 36 (0.9 m) clear PVC concentrate pick-up hose.

  • Models DP-SP 4000
  • Configuration Stand alone submersible pump
  • Nominal Performance of Submersible (Flow/Lift) 4, 000 GPM (15, 000 LPM) 35 ft (10.6 M)
  • Nominal Performance of Booster (Flow/Pressure Boost) N/A
  • Combined Capacity of Submersible and Boost pumps in parallel pumping N/A
Based on the vast experience of Williams Fire & Hazard Control with suppressing industrial fires and mitigating other hazards, DEPENDAPOWER Submersible Pump continues the proven technique of applying overwhelming fire suppression power to control a dangerous situation in the shortest time possible.

The highly efficient hydraulic submersible pump is driven by a market leading diesel engine to pump water at a rate of 8, 000 gpm (30, 000 Lpm) from a water source as far as 200 ft (61 m) away with a vertical lift of 35 ft (10.6 m). This water flow can then be delivered to an on-board or separate boost pump where pressure is increased before sending to end-of-line devices.

The pump is available as either a standalone pumping system to feed a standalone boost pump, or as a pump combination with a DEPENDAPOWER boost pump. In either configuration, the water can be fed into large volume firefighting monitors such as the Williams Fire & Hazard Control Ambassador monitor, or sent over a long distance hose relay, substantially increasing the logistical efficiency at incident sites.

The submersible unit is compact and easy to deploy. The self-contained pumping system can be built on a base skid, a hookload skid, or a trailer for easy transportation. A large integrated fuel tank can hold enough fuel to run the pump for up to 8 hours (depending on configuration and use).

Every unit has a high strength integrated lifting rack which allows crane lifting with a standard 4-point lift that does not require a spreader-bar. Fabricated with structural steel and stainless steel fasteners, the DEPENDAPOWER Submersible Pump is designed to pump fresh water, sea water, or brackish water. They are tough pumping systems delivering years of worry-free operations with low maintenance requirements.

Firefighting experience and commitment to reliability are incorporated into the design of the control system. DEPENDAPOWER Submersible Pump and submersibleboost combination units provide a user-friendly, waterproof LCD control screen as a primary interface, advanced sensors, redundant control mechanisms, and emergency shut-down switches for safe and easy operation that does not require extensive training.

The standalone submersible pump is ideal if you already have a DEPENDAPOWER draftboost pump. Weighing only 320 lbs (145 kg), the floating unit is equipped with ergonomically designed carry poles which allow two or four operators to carry the pump unit into hard to reach locations. Ambassador Monitor Trailers

  • Flow Rate (lpm) 7571
  • Max Range (ft) 92
  • Max Height (ft) 15
  • Height Location (ft) 61
  • Max Range (ft) 74
The Ambassador Monitor Trailer is designed to meet modern industrial firefighting and protection needs, especially for mitigating hazards involving flammable liquids in storage and gases under pressure. It is a mobile large-volume discharging platform capable of delivering up to 6, 000 GPM (22, 700 LPM) water or foam solution for fire suppression, cooling, personnel protection, toxic gas dispersion and more. Its optional Hydro-Chem capability delivers dry chemicals to extinguish 3-dimensional fires or gas pressure fires. If more flow is needed, maximum flow rate of 8, 000 GPM (30, 000 LPM) is available on selected models.

The Ambassador trailer features an A-frame tow bar construction with integral waterway, an internal ballast and an external toolbox. The trailer has been purposely designed to reduce weight and maximize manoeuvrability with stability safety factor achieved by the water ballast tank to increase weight once staged for deployment.

Features & Benefits

Advanced Hybrid Nozzle Technology Ambassador Monitor Trailers feature a unique hybrid nozzle that functions as an automatic or fixed flow nozzle. During automatic operation, the nozzle will respond to varying water supply of 2, 000 to 6, 000 GPM (7, 570 to 22, 700 LPM), to maintain a nearly constant tip pressure of approximately 100 PSI (6.9 bar), thus maximizing its effective reach distance. This is particularly useful in applications where the water supply may be inadequate or variable, or to establish initial discharge while more supply lines are being connected.

In fixed flow mode, the nozzle can be preset with the included fixed position plugs (flow stops) to a desired flow rate between 2, 000 and 6, 000 GPM (7, 570 and 22, 700 LPM), based on the specific situation. Flow rate and reach distance increase as the water supply increases with a nearly constant K-factor. If the flow is not hitting the target and you need to boost the distance, simply increase the water supply (increase pump engine throttle). Once the flow rate reaches the set point, it performs as a conventional fixed flow nozzle. There is no need to shut down operations to adjust flow unless you need more beyond the set point. This mode is desirable for foam proportioning operations on storage tank fires or other hazards requiring specific application densities.

Hydro-Foam Proportioning The Ambassador nozzle is capable of Hydro-Foam proportioning at flow rates up to 6000 GPM at 1% or 3% and at 3000 GPM at 6% using remote jet pump technology for easy and efficient foam application. Jet pumps are supplied with the trailer. A flood-plate disperses the rich waterfoam solution (from the jet pumps) around the inner periphery of the master stream for thorough mixing.

Hydro-Chem Capability The Ambassador nozzle is capable of delivering up to 100 lb (45 Kg)s of dry chemicals with its dry chemical accessory kit for 3-dimensional or pressure fires. To use the Hydro-Chem capability, feed the foam solution to the trailer unit via the water inlet connections from other foam systems such as Williams WATP andor Hot Shot foam systems. The Hydro-Foam flood plate can be easily removed by hand and replaced with a chemical extension tube. This tube can be fitted with your choice of dry chemical choke tips that allow the dry chemical flow rate at 25, 50, 75, or 100 lbs.

The Hydro-Chem option allows the dry chemical, such as Williams Fire & Hazard Control (WF&HC) PKW, to be propelled inside the protective tunnel of the master stream. This enables the dry chemical to reach a greater distance than is possible with conventional equipment. Dry chemical manifolds are available for interconnecting WF&HC Gorilla 500 LB PKW units or common wheeled dry chemical units to produce the required flow.

Highly Efficient Waterway - The trailer has a large integrated stainless steel waterway and inlet manifold with standard Storz couplings. Various combinations of inlet sizes are available for maximum connectivity. The monitor waterway has 8 (200 mm) full-flow construction to provide minimum friction loss and maximum efficiency. The nozzle features a hard coat anodized aluminium and stainless steel assembly. Constructed of stainless steel, the monitor is designed to provide years of reliable service.

User-friendly Operations The nozzle provides easy pattern control, ranging from full fog for personnel protection to straight stream for maximum reach and delivery (via a full wrap-around handle attached to the outer sleeve.) The monitor allows a full monitor articulation of 360 rotation, and down to -10 and up to +80 vertical travel for the tiller bar models. The trailer features an approximately 400 gallon (1, 500 L) ballast for stability to counteract the reactionary force generated by the large flow. The ballast is below an anti-skid grip deck for firm footing, even when the surface is completely wet. Flowing up to 6, 000 GPM, a firefighter operating the device using the standard tiller-bar will experience the freedom of smooth, rapid horizontal and vertical movement. For enhanced safety and ease of use, an electrichydraulic version is also available, which can be remotely controlled from up to 300 ft (91 m) away and with gear operation as backup. The remote-controlled unit is fully self-contained and requires no additional power supply.

For the European market, a version built and certified to European Road Legal standards is available.

For even higher flow rates, WF&HC also provides an 8, 000 GPM (30, 000 LPM) model. Customization, including non-standard inlet manifolds, is available upon request.

Double Drum Kit

A Drum Kit is the link between any self-educting nozzle and an atmospheric foam concentrate container. It allows self-educting nozzles such as Hydro-Foam Ranger nozzles to pick up foam concentrate from a drum or other atmospheric containers. The standard drum kit consists of a flexible reinforced clear foam pick-up hose, a pvc, quarter-turn ball type foam concentrate valve, a rigid pvc concentrate pick-up tube (stinger), and a pressurevacuum vent. This simple kit facilitates self-educting foam proportioning operation.

A Double Drum Kit is used to connect two (2) drums or tanks to a self-educting nozzle, and consists of a pvc tee connector, two flexible hoses; one 90 pvc elbow, two pvc quarter-turn ball type foam concentrate control valves, two pvc stingers and two pressurevacuum vents. A double drum kit allows longer self-educting foam proportioning or uninterrupted operation. When one drum is empty, the fire fighter can replace it with a full one while picking up foam concentrate from the other one.

A Tote Kit connects a self-educting nozzle to the spigot of a foam concentrate tote. It consists of a 2 flexible hose with 2"(F)NPSH connectors, a composite 2"(F)CAM 2"(M)NPT adapter, a relief valve with vacuum breaker vent and 2"(M)NPT connector, and a composite reducing bushing if the concentrate port on the nozzle is smaller than 2.
