Kolyai Kelleghi Rug 3.15x1.62m A Kelleghi is a dimensional term for a narrow carpet size such as 3.00x1.50m or 10'x5', i.e. it's length being twice it's width. This Kolyai Rug is especially interesting: the colours selected are unusual. The mainfield colour is a purply-blue shade and the main border is pink. The design is also curious as the medallion is elegant, and the field motifs depict a varient of the Herati (fish and flower) design but in an unusual squared-off compartmentalised form. The quality of this Kolyai Kelleghi Rug is excellent - it is solidly made and has a durable woollen pile knotted onto a cotton foundation with a double weft construction.
