LOW VOLTAGE DRY TYPE TRANSFORMERS Phase-A-Matic, Inc. offers a complete range of new and reconditioned low voltage dry type transformers, including general purpose, drive isolation, motor-starting autotransformers, buck-boost and more. Most stock transformers can ship within a few hours. Phase-A-Matic also offers non-standard designs with short lead times available.

A Rotary Phase Converter, Voltage Stabilizer.combination, when properly sized, provides the necessary voltage balance of close to + 5% or less between legs compared to standard three phase line voltage of + 10%. It also helps to keep the output voltage stable during peak loads, thus helping most CNCPLC and other voltage sensitive equipment to operate properly.ost.CNCPLC machines require a CNC PAC™ 1-12 to 2 times larger than the spindle motor to accommodate the extra amps for starting, instant reversing, and for the servos, hydraulics, etc. Later model CNCPLC machines are more technologically sophisticated, with up to 30, 000+ RPM spindles, regenerative braking, etc. These may require a CNC PAC™ even larger. These converters are the workhorse of many commercial uses and multitudes of home shop machines. LIFE EXPECTANCY: The Static Converter has been in use for approximately 46 years and has already proven itself to be extremely reliable when properly applied. Phase-A-Matic™ was recently able to purchase back the first one that was ever sold, and it is still working fine. It is reasonable to expect the converter to be in good working condition and service for 20 or 30 years or more. We continue to hear back from customers who have them still running their equipment faithfully after 20 years and more. Uses include: Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Drills, Saws, Metalworking and Woodworking Equipment, Printing Equipment, Sewing Machines, Garbage Disposals, Food Processing Equipment, Meat Grinders, Food Mixers and Blenders, Conveyer Belts, and numerous other uses.

The rotary portion of our converter is proprietary, custom built to our specifications by Baldor Electric, one of the largest and most trusted motor manufacturers in the world, with warranty stations nationwide and worldwide. It is a true phase converter and not a modified electric motor as most of our competitors use. Many years of testing, changing and developing the converter in conjunction with Baldor’s engineers has produced a very simple and trouble-free converter with extremely low idle current and low noise level. Many of our customers confirm that our rotary converters are the quietest and most trouble-free available.Keeping the design exceptionally simple reduces the risk of electrical connection failure to almost zero since these are some of the most common causes of failure. We use only soldered connections with no mechanical electrical connections like spade clips, terminals or screws which can vibrate loose or corrode over time. There are no start capacitors, relays or contactors with connections which can come loose or arc and weld the contacts causing failure of the contactor and the start capacitors, and perhaps even the rotary converter or your equipment. Because of this we do not have circuit board failures caused by spikes generated by the magnetic contactors as some of our competitors do.

For use with Rotary Converter for 3-phase electronic equipment such as CNCPLC machines, ACDC drives, and all voltage-sensitive equipment. Provides +- 5% voltage stabilization. The normal operating voltage of the Rotary Phase Converter is 208-230VAC on the 220V "R" series Rotary Converter, and 460VAC on the 460V "RH" series Rotary Converter. The generated phase output voltage of the Rotary Phase Converter is normally higher than the input voltage under no load and light load conditions. In applications with high single-phase voltage (greater than 230V on the 220V "R" series, and greater than 460V on the 460V "RH" series), the no load or light load output voltage may be excessive. Some CNCPLC equipment will not work properly at the higher output voltage. The Phase-A-Matic™ Voltage Stabilizer is designed to reduce this higher voltage to nearer the input voltage. It will also keep the output voltage stable during peak loads, thus helping CNCPLC equipment and other voltage-sensitive equipment to operate properly. Running very small motors alone on a Rotary Converter that is 3 times larger (or more) may not reduce the output voltage sufficiently, in which case the smaller motor may run hot. For these cases, to reduce cost it may be possible to use a dedicated Voltage Stabilizer sized to the requirements of the problem motor or load only. Consult factory. Supplied in a NEMA type 1 enclosure with various sizes of knockouts. Intended for indoor use only in dry locations, but can be placed in a rain tight enclosure for use in wet or damp locations. Select a Voltage Stabilizer at least as large as the load it will operate. It does not have to be as large as the Rotary Phase Converter being used.
