PIC offers a selection of flange mounted shaft brakes that can be actuated by either applying or removing voltage. Our parts come in several voltage ranges and a number of bore sizes to complement our standard shafting.

Our catalog offers clutches that either act between two shafts or between a shaft and a mounted component like a gear or pulley. Products are available for either continuous slip or electrical engagement duty. Slip torque is pre-set and selectable on some models, while other models are fully adjustable.

Screw Clamps

>> Hub Clamps These parts are sized to fit our split hub gears and pulleys, allowing you to repeatedly remove or adjust your part's position on a shaft. Parts are available in several styles, with reduced clearance and balancing options for demanding applications. >> Screw Type Clamp These clamps allow you to apply pressure by tightening 4 set screws spaced radially along the outside of the part. >> Set Screw Collars PIC's set screw collars are convenient for locating and retaining components on a shaft. Use the set screw to hold the collar's position, a small recess is located 90 from the screw as a start for a drill; you have the option of drilling through the collar and shaft to install a pin for the best results. >> Split Type Clamp This is a heavy duty clamp design when higher holding forces are required.

Gears

Whether the need is to transfer motion or transmit power, PIC Design has the complete range of gearing to fulfill any application requirement. Standard gears and assemblies are available for operation on parallel and right-angle shafts, with gear racks for linear motion applications.
>> Anti-Backlash
A gear consisting of two spring repelled sections. The sections align to the profile of a single gear, but when sprung apart effectively make an expanding tooth. This expanding tooth takes up the clearance in the gear mesh effectively eliminating backlash. Available as Spur, Worm and Miter Gears.
>> Cluster
Two or more spur gears attached to each other, resulting in a one piece, multiple gear part. Available as spur gears with provisions for mounting an additional hubless gear.
>> Helical
Designed with a 45 Helix angle to operate on parallel or right angle shafts.
>> Hubs and Blanks
Several hub types are available for use with our hubless gears to facilitate shaft attachment. Gear blanks have the outside dimensions of a finished gear but no gear teeth machined in.
>> Miter and Bevel Gears
Designed and manufactured to operate on intersecting shafts positioned at a right angle.
>> Pinion Shafts
Gears machined on the ends of shafts, providing multiple mounting and driving options.
>> Precision Gear Rack
Gear teeth oriented along a straight line, providing rotary to linear movement when meshed with a circular spur gear.

Linear Motion System Components

Linear Motion System Components
PIC Design has a comprehensive selection of precision components for linear motion applications. Our standard components range in shaft and bearing sizes from 14 in. to 1-12 in. diameter and linear guides with travel from 4 in. to 35 in. All components are available in inch and metric sizes.

>> Linear Bearings
High precision linear bearings enable endless rectilinear motion using recirculating, rolling balls. They are available in closed, adjustable or open styles, with either flanges or snap ring grooves for installation.
>> Precision Rubber Rollers
These parts use a neoprene rubber outer diameter supported by an aluminum inner body to provide a compliant roller with good traction. Parts are available with a hub to act as a drive roller, or with a bearing to function as an idler.
>> Shaft Supports
PIC offers several types of shaft supports used to mount your linear shaft and bearing assemblies. Shaft support blocks and hangers clamp on to the end of the linear shaft and can be bolted down to a surface parallel to the shafting. Support rails are extruded aluminum bases that support the linear shaft along its entire length. These rails can be bought pre-drilled or assembled complete with linear shafting.
>> Shafting
Precision case hardened and ground shafting is designed for use with linear bearings. Material choices include C-1060 steel case hardened to Rockwell 60-65C, 440C stainless steel case hardened to Rockwell 50-55C as well as precision ground 303 stainless steel (Rockwell 70-95B typical). PIC can supply this shafting in bulk length, rough cut, precision cut or with modifications or mounting holes.

Designers are no longer confined to the use of one type of drive system. PIC Design offers No-Slip, No-Slide, E*P*S, E*P*S HTD (Metric), Round Belts, and Miniature Chain. >> Belt Tensioner
This part has a movable arm with a bearing supported shaft for attaching an idler pulley. Position the arm and pulley for desired belt tension and lock the arm in place with the supplied locking screw.
>> E*P*S*
These timing belts employ the classic trapezoidal tooth form and are available in several materials and pitches. These belts carry higher loads and are capable of higher speeds than our No-Slip and No-Slide options. Pitches include MXL, XL, L and 40 DP.
>> E*P*S* HTD
These belts are similar to the EPS style, but have a more refined curvilinear tooth form for higher torque applications. This allows for slightly better performance over the trapezoidal tooth belts. Like the EPS belts there are several material options in 3mm and 5mm pitches.
>> No-Slide
This series of timing belt is molded in polyurethane and is available in a number of common pitches. Each belt has a stainless steel or Kevlar tensile member encapsulated in its center which ads strength and helps position the belt on the pulleys without the use of flanges. We sell these as either closed belts or in bulk lengths of up to 100 feet for field splicing. Pulleys are made of aluminum and are available in a number of configurations.
>> No-Slip
This series of timing belts is molded in polyurethane and is available in a number of common pitches. Each belt has either one or two tensile members running within its length, in your choice of stainless steel cable for strength or Aramid fiber for flexibility. We sell these as either a closed belt or in bulk lengths up to 100 feet for field splicing. Pulleys are made from either aluminum or stainless steel.
>> Round Belts
We offer round belts, or O-ring belts, in a number of diameters and standard lengths. Custom length belts are available upon request. Our round groove pulleys come in stainless steel or aluminum.
>> Stainless Steel Roller Chain
For applications that see very high loads, stainless steel roller chain is often the best choice. PIC offers roller chain in .1475'' pitch and .250'' pitch (#25). Chains are available cut to your specific length and supplied with a connector, or in bulk length. The corresponding sprockets are available in stainless steel or aluminum in several configurations.
