Powell’s fault interrupters are magnetically actuated to provide a fault interrupter that does not need an added mechanism to provide automated operation. Since the base interrupter has no manual operating handle potential SF6 leak points are eliminated. If a manual trip is required then a manual trip handle can be provided. Fault interrupter ratings 15kV through 38kV, 600A, Fault interruptFault Close 12kA, or 25kA.

Powell subsurfacevault style medium voltage switches are available for systems rated 15kV through 38kV, 900A continuous current. Subsurface vault switches utilize a medium voltage switch assembly mounted below ground level in a vault or chamber. These are typically used for underground distribution systems and a straight-forward and simple method of system distribution. A wide variety of switch configurations are possible so as to provide a truly custom-engineered solution for your application.

Powell offers a wide selection of padmount SF6 switches for systems rated 15kV through 38kV, 600A continuous current. Powell’s padmounted switches may be provided in up to 6 switched ways. Padmount mounted switches typically are provided with either front or rear termination access, however Powell will configure to meet the customers’ specific requirements.
