Years ago, building owners and general contractors did not pay attention to low voltage wiring. Telephone wires were owned by Ma Bell. There was nothing called the Internet. Quite often the cable company provided it’s wiring as well. Times have changed. With the advent of deregulation and advances in technology, structured cabling systems are now an important part of the infrastructure of any building. In fact, structured cable is now often called “the fourth utility” or “digital plumbing”.
