At S&R, Inc., we are recognized for our production of precision fabricated parts, catering to customers across a range of industries. In the project highlighted here, we were commissioned to create steel components for a customer in the heavy automotive machinery industry. These upper rail parts are used in the manufacturing of Kanban rack systems. Employing 11 gauge HRPO steel and our state-of-the-art CNC laser cutter, the parts were precision laser cut to the customer requirements as outlined in the supplied 2D CAD drawings. A tight ± 0.005” tolerance was met during manufacturing. Our laser process produced burr-free parts without any material deformation. In process and postproduction testing was implemented to ensure quality and accuracy, including visual and dimensional inspection methods. Dimensions of the completed parts were 5.5” x 9.5” and 4” x 24”. This project was completed within 2 weeks and shipped to the customer in Kentucky in 1525 unit orders. At S&R, Inc., our customers rely on our experience as sheet metal fabricators to produce the high quality precision parts required for their demanding applications. In the project highlighted below, a customer in the automotive industry commissioned us for the custom manufacturing of steel components used to build and fabricate their stackable automotive rack systems. 316” thick, A36 grade HRPO steel was selected for the parts, and our high precision CNC laser cutter was employed to complete the fabrication. This flexible cutting process was ideal for the rapid creation of the various configurations and sizes specified, as there is zero set up time and no tooling necessary. A tight ± 0.005” tolerance was met during manufacturing, and parts were left with a mill finish. Comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections were carried out to ensure accuracy and integrity. We supplied over 100 parts for this project, shipped to the customer in Kentucky after a 2 week turnaround time. At S&R, Inc. we provide custom fabricated parts for customers in a number of industries. Outlined here are the specialty bus trim accessories we manufacture for coach buses, used by our customer for the high end busses they supply to the country music industry. Parts we supply include head light covers, rub rail covers, tail light covers, dock light covers, breast plates, name plates, trailer hitch covers, louvers, and letter sets among others. All work is carried out utilizing our state-of-the-art CNC laser, rolling, and press brake equipment. 18 gauge (.048”) #8 mirror finished stainless steel material is formed, laser cut, and rolled to the exacting configurations as specified by the customer. The tightest tolerances of ±0.005” are met during cutting, with ±3° met during formwork. Our material choice is a testament to our dedication to quality; we prefer the thicker gauge to our competitors’ use of 20 – 22 gauge material. All parts are held to industry standards and our internal benchmarks for excellence, utilizing dimensional and visual inspections to ensure quality and accuracy. Turnaround times for these specialty parts are 2 weeks, delivered to the customer in Middle Tennessee. Volumes vary, as we create the components to order. Manufacturers of heavy duty parts depend on the advanced fabrication capabilities at S&R, Inc. to supply their precision cut components. A customer in the heavy machinery industry contracted us to manufacture the parts highlighted here, which would be utilized in the construction of their equipment. 38” A572 hot rolled steel was manipulated with laser cutting and forming processes to meet the configurations as outlined on the supplied 2D CAD drawings. Work was carried out utilizing our state-of-the-art CNC Lasers and our 12’ x 175’ ton Press Brake. Final dimensions of the parts were 65” in length, 16” in width, and 21” in height. The tightest tolerances of ±0.005” were achieved during cutting, with a tolerance of ±3° met during forming. Turnaround time for this project was 2 to 3 weeks for this Kentucky customer. Upon receipt of the base components, the customer then performs welding and further machining to create the finished assembly.
